"When Will the Kingdom of God Come?" Rescue Radio with Marjorie Cole

0:00 Music. Rescue Radio, because there's a war for your son. And the war is going on and on and on. And thank you, Jesus, you won. Hallelujah. The battle belongs to the Lord. And so we trust you today. We give all of these anxieties and heavinesses and all these worries and confusions and deceptions and the treachery of the evil one. We give it all to you, Lord God.

0:46 And we declare that you are over all things. You are the God of all creation, Lord God. God, you're the God of the beginning and you're the God of the end. And so we thank you, Lord, for keeping us in the middle. And we thank you, Lord, that we declare your will be done, O God, this day on earth, in and through us, as it's being done and declared in heaven. Father God, that you give us eyes to see and ears to hear and heart to receive what you are saying to us, not what the world's saying, not what our emotions are saying, not what everybody else says, but what you are saying through your word. And give us courage and strengthen our hearts, Lord God, to believe you and to do those exploits you've called us to do in these days. And I thank you, Lord Jesus, you took courage yourself. You showed us how to do this. You died on the cross for our sins.

1:28 You didn't turn back. You didn't whimper out. You didn't get discouraged, Father. You just moved forward in all of this. And I thank you, Lord, for giving us that example. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to live inside of us and giving us your prophetic word. Thank you, Lord, your word holds as an anchor in the midst of this crazy storm. It's like the anchor anchoring us to the rock, Christ Jesus. And Lord, we thank you, Father, for giving us power over all the power of the enemy, power to live and not die, power to declare and not be deceived, Father God, and to use our words against the enemy, Lord God, not let the enemy use our words against us. And I thank you, Father, for your will be done. I thank you, Lord, that the powers of darkness are exposed and they're bound and they're restricted, and you will not let them do anything that you're not able to stop or fix in Jesus' name.

2:18 And I declare, Lord God, that your kingdom come, your will be done, that we are your ambassadors, your assets of yours from heaven to do this will, the work, we're the remnant, the army on earth, Father God. And I thank you for giving us that great privilege to be that. And I thank you, Lord, too, for the promise that no weapon formed against us will prosper, that no word said, deed done, action taken will be able to be used by the enemy to bring forth any shame, trouble, or reproach. I see what you're doing, Lord God, sometimes, and when I see it, it's exciting. But hope in our eyes to see it more often so that we can take our heart and not be discouraged and not be deceived. Father God, in Jesus' name, amen. Well, hey, what's happening? I have a question.

3:01 When will the kingdom of God come? Well, there was a question the Pharisees asked Jesus a long time ago. Yeah, they did. And verse 20 of Luke 17, now when he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, the kingdom of God does not come with observation. Let's just pause there for a moment. He said the kingdom of God is not going to come. Okay, oh, here it is. Okay, we see it now. He said it's not going to come that way. The whole idea of the kingdom of God is really all through Scripture that the Lord is the sovereign. He is the king over all his creation. Amen.

3:44 Right? And it's going to be, it's manifested or expressed in different forms at different times. And so the idea of the kingdom of God in the minds of the Pharisees was that Israel was going to have some of its greatness as in the times of David and Solomon. And they were going to be the rulers of the world. But it was not a political kingdom. It was not a tangible government per se. But he said it doesn't come with observation. This is one of the first things that he says. You can't really see it. Right. The kingdom of God, his intentions, Jesus's intentions were not to be or establish a political kingdom.

4:29 His kingdom is much bigger than that. And it comes from not necessarily seeing it with your eyes. So many times you want to see things to believe things. But he says it comes without observation. He says it's within you. In other words, it's not something you see, but it's something you know. It's very different than the answer that they were looking for, I think. Totally different. And like the last part of verse 21 that you already mentioned, for indeed the kingdom of God is within you. It's inside of us, those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 14, 17 says the kingdom of God is not food and it's not drink.

5:14 It's not some superficial religious system, but it is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Genuine, the fruit of the spirit of abiding in Jesus Christ, and he is the vine. So going back to what they were asking, what time is it? When is all this, your kingdom coming? I mean, they sensed then, as he was getting really close to the cross right there, that there was something about to change. And so they wanted to know, kind of a heads up. And Jesus, you know, he began to give them, in Luke and Matthew, Mark also, the signs of his coming, of his kingdom. And the most interesting, powerful of all the signs...

5:56 As he described, you read these chapters towards, you know, Luke 20 and Matthew 24. It's all red letters. It's all Jesus telling you, telling us what's going to happen. But he talks in riddles, and he talks kind of in parables, and he talks in a way that you can't just, okay, this, this, and this, and here it is. But the fact is, these are prophetic words and words of God, who is Jesus, the prophet, that he is the spirit of prophecy. And so the witness and the testimony that these things are really going to happen, the very fact that they're being spoke by Jesus Christ himself is the only real witness evidence that we need, that God said it.

6:41 Therefore, it is going to happen. So it's an invisible kingdom within the hearts of people, but then it is going to become very, very visible indeed. So the hard evidence then is his word, his own declaration of what's going to happen is hard evidence of his kingdom coming, of the end and the various things that we're going to be talking about. Yeah, you don't get any more hard evidence than the word of Jesus. What he says, yeah. And he says, verse 22, the days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man and you will not see it. So he's talking about those Pharisees that are really missing the point. And verse 23, and they will say to you, look here, look there.

7:22 Do not go after them and follow them. Don't say the kingdom of God's over here. Come here, come here, come see this, come hear this one. In Matthew, he says the same thing. He says, be not deceived. In the last days, many will come in my name. Using the name of Jesus, using even lying signs and wonders to get us to follow after them. That is another sign. Of the sign of intense and deliberate deception. So Jesus puts this in perspective. He said, verse 24, when the days of the Son of Man are coming, he says, verse 24, for as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, we all see that, right?

8:08 Lightning just fills the sky. So also the Son of Man will be in his day. You know, that's going to come. But first, in order for this to really happen, verse 25, first he must suffer many things and be rejected of this generation. That was what he was about to do right there. He was just at the foot of the cross, basically days away from being rejected and insulted and mocked and crucified. And he says that has to happened first and he was right on. Jesus is right on, absolutely on the mark, 100%, nails it every time. Although a lot of people have been blinded and cannot see it.

8:49 And that's part of the, that's actually part of the, one of the evidences of the end as well, that people will not be able to see it. They'll be deceived. People will say, where's the promise of his coming? So since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were. The Bible says there shall come scoffers in the last days. That mock the coming of the Lord, that mock followers of Jesus. And this is one of the signs of the end, the signs of the return of Jesus is these mockers and scoffers. So he said, no, one of the things he said, first you must suffer many things, be rejected of this generation. Again, so the cross, in order to bring the kingdom of God in, you can't skip the cross.

9:36 The cross is the key. This is what defeated the powers of hell, the powers of darkness, the cross, which includes not only the suffering, the death, the burial, but the resurrection and the ascension of Jesus Christ. It's all what theologians call the cross event. The whole picture. If Jesus had been to the cross and he wasn't raised from the dead, the cross wouldn't have done us any good. But in the meantime, we have a choice to make. The cross is established, the cross event. All these events really have been already done. They're already finished and finalized in heaven. It's just kind of like wrapping it up here on earth.

10:20 But Peter, he was anticipating what we're actually going through. And he said, in 2 Peter chapter 3. Thus he says, where do we want to start? Probably verse 3. Yeah. Knowing first that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, where is the promise of his coming? So there's a deliberate deception and confusion and scattering of truth so that the scoffers are preeminent. They make a lot of noise. They use a lot of verbiage. They intimidate. They accuse. Where is the promise of his coming? So they're going to try to stir up people and say, well, it must not happen.

11:00 It hasn't happened yet. Maybe it's never going to happen. You know, maybe I was just dumb to think and stand around here and wait for it to happen. He says, but this they willing, let's see, will, and saying, where's the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they are from the beginning of creation. Well, you know, that's not exactly true. There was a couple of times when God had to interrupt everything, like with the deluge, and call everything to a halt and clear the decks and reestablish the DNA. And wash the putrefaction, the corruption off the earth. But they willfully forget, this is verse 5, that by the word of the Lord, the heavens were established of old, the earth standing in and out of the water, and by which the earth that existed perished with the flood.

11:49 He's saying, look, we went back to the flood. But the heavens and the earth, which now exist, are kept in store by the same word, reserved for fire, until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. So there is a definite judgment, this time with fire, that is coming. And, you know, there's many elements and aspects to that judgment and that fire. Yeah, well, if you look in Luke 17, verse 26, he said, and as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man, when the Son of Man comes. So what were they doing in the days of Noah? Well, if you go back to Genesis chapter 6 and verse 5, and the Lord saw that the wickedness of men was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

12:49 And he was sorry that he had made man on the earth and he was grieved at his heart. So he says, the wickedness had become great. Degenerate. Degenerate, yeah. And the thoughts of people were so powerful. Impure. Lost. Dirty, lost. Intent of thoughts, only evil. All people thought about was what was evil. Well, they were all taken up. They were deceived. I mean, nothing good in their thoughts at all. Yeah. Just evil continually. And then. So he only had Noah left. So that's where he used Noah to start the whole thing over again.

13:30 Right. And God said, verse 13 of Genesis 6, and God said to Noah, the end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with what? Violence through them, through human beings. And behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Well, I think the interesting and different thing about this is, and we can go with all that and say this is happening again, and it is, but there's a little bit of a different twist this time. The first time with Noah, there hadn't been Jesus and the cross and the gospel, and the gospel of grace and good news. But that has been established since then, you know, when Jesus came. And so there's a resistance to the inexpressible wickedness. There is a resistance.

14:16 There's a godly resistance that's coming through the people of God who've been called to the cross, to repentance, to stand and having done all to stand. So we're not just saying there is no hope and everything's lost and everybody's horrible. We're going to say there is that. There is that, and there is that element of people who have been kind of like grown up again under the nurturing of Satan to create another element of pure evil and hostility in the midst of godly people, in the midst of godly righteousness and the work of the kingdom. So Satan has tried to create his counter forces to go against the grace and the goodness and the power and the word and the Holy Spirit, the power of Jesus Christ.

15:01 So now we have a little bit different story. With Noah, there was no resistance. This time, there is a resistance. However, there's some similarities with Noah and Lot. The people, they were given to the deeds and the demands of the day. So they were eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage and going to weddings and building houses and, you know, making money and saying, well, this is going to sustain us. This is sustainable. Nothing is going to change. We're good. Nothing's going to change. So, but that is a big treacherous deception that is trying to undermine even the people of God. Because, you know, we get weary sometimes. Well, let's not admit it, but we do.

15:41 And we have to take hold, a hold of eternal life, use the words of God that he puts in our mouth to, you know, understand that there's a sure word of prophecy, that the word of God is true. Speaking to ourselves in Psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, making melody in our heart, talking to God, declaring, staying focused, staying alert, and staying in the place where we're in reality, in the revelation of Jesus Christ, because he has got a plan, and he's got a plan for us specifically. We don't realize this degeneration that took effect in Eden, when Satan, the serpent, seduced Eve, deceived her, enchanted her, hypnotized her, mesmerized her, made her think that that fruit looked good, and she had no clue that she was being mesmerized, enchanted.

16:30 And today, and even since then, the enchantments of the evil one that works through drugs and pharmakia and root cuttings and all this stuff, the enchantments have taken over the minds and put most human beings in a place of stupor. And the only way they come out of the stupor basically is through a wake-up call. And usually the wake-up call is shocking. It's demanding, it's intense, and you can't escape it. You've got to do something about it. And this is actually when our lives begin to fall apart sometimes, and God is using that to get us to call upon him to wake up out of the stupor. How does he say that in, I don't know, in Romans?

17:11 Romans 13, 11, he says it's time to awake out of sleep, for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed. Knowing the time, he says, in this, Romans 13, 11. We'll read through verse 14, And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness. Let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, but in the day.

17:55 Not in strife and envy, but put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. And in Ephesians chapter 5, starting with verse 6, he says, Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light. for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth, proving what is acceptable to the Lord, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. I think this is part of the problem.

18:36 We kind of tangle with them. We kind of entertain them. We kind of draw these things into our homes. We participate with and seek after, pursue the things that look like they will give us a momentary way of escape or a reprieve. But he says, have no fellowship with the unfruitful. You can't play with this. You can't bring little serpents and snakes into your house and not expect them eventually to grow up and bite you. Reprove them, he says, expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. Now, this is true. The things they do in secret are so horrible, so unspeakable, that it's almost defiling to even talk about them.

19:18 That's how bad they are. But he says, but all things that expose that are exposed are made manifest by the light. For whatever makes manifest is the light. Jesus is the light of the world. Therefore, he says, awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. You know, people who die in fires most of the time are sleeping in their houses. And because they don't wake up in time, and once they do wake up, if they do, there's too much smoke inhalation or they can't get out. So he's saying the fire is coming don't fall asleep in your house awake you are awake it's you still have time to wake up you don't have to go down with the wicked you know you can be.

20:03 100 fruitful for god you don't have to be a oh well this is good enough get up get going take a hold of your life thank god for it and cast off the hidden works of darkness he says awake you who are asleep arise from the dead so we're our dead works and christ will give you light see, see then that you walk circumspectly not as fools fools say oh it's never going to happen oh we're fine oh let's just do what we want to eat drink and be merry oh it's okay you know we don't have to be careful we don't have to be watchful you know God's really not coming back look it's been almost two he said this two thousand years ago haha okay so he says but not only wake. But redeem the time because the days are evil. You only have a certain amount.

20:45 I only have a certain amount of allotted number of minutes, hours, days that are given to us. And everybody's a little different. And the question is, what are you going to do with those minutes, hours, days, seconds that God has given you? You're going to have to give account for every one because that's a gift of life that God has given you. Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine or try to check out or get medicated, but pay attention, you know, walk in the Holy Spirit, speaking to one another, stay strong in the Lord, encourage one another, this sort of thing. Do not fear and do not faint because the whole world is full of, you know, the whole world Satan has tried to wrap us up in his bundle of fun and foolishness and folly and fantasies and fables to distract us, hoping that we're little children and we'll never come out of this stupor and we'll just stay stupid until he can set the house on fire.

21:45 And everything in this world system is gauged to put us into a stupor. Yep, in this world. In this world to distract us, to put us to sleep, to turn our attention away from the Lord and his calling and his purpose and who we really are in him. That's what it is. And so there has to be a revelation. There has to be a way. A revelation means something that was, it was there all along, but you just haven't seen it, right? Right. I just think of the prodigal son when he was finally in the pig pen. He wanted to eat what the pigs wouldn't eat.

22:29 And he woke up and he says, what? Basically he's saying, what am I doing here? I could go to my father's house and I would have plenty. And he says, I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to arise. I'm going to go to my father and say, Father, I have sinned. Make me as one of your servants. He had a wake-up call. And it takes a wake-up call. The only way you get a wake-up call is through truth that's empowered by the Holy Spirit that breaks through that crust of stupor and unbelief and fear and distraction, being mesmerized, enchanted, under a spell.

23:09 It's like some of these old fairy tales that the wicked witch puts somebody under a spell and someone has to come along and break the spell. The only one who can break the spell is Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. Isn't that the truth? You know, the sleeping beauties and all these things, the princess to come and wake her up. This is actually not far from the truth. Not far from, actually, it's been told in a parable, but it's the truth in people. But Jesus gave us some signs to look for along the way. Some very scary signs, actually. I'm in Daniel 8, 23. Let's look there for a minute.

23:53 Well, it says in the, I'm, yeah, I'll start with 23. In the latter times of their kingdoms, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king will arise having fierce features, who understands sinister schemes. Hmm. Hmm. His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power. In other words, he's going to get his power from the devil. And he will destroy fearfully or extraordinarily. He will have no fear. He will have a hardened heart, cold, and shall prosper and thrive. He's going to get by with it. And he shall destroy the mighty and also the holy people. This might refer to, this is in Daniel, might refer to the Jews.

24:33 I'm not sure if it's all holy people or just them. I'm not sure. Through his cunning, he will cause deceit to prosper under his hand. While people are stupid and stupid and sleeping and slothful and drunk and full of their own lusts and pleasures, they're not going to take any notice of the thief coming to the door. As a matter of fact, that is exactly how these bigger kingdoms, like, for example, Babylon, you remember the night that they were all drinking out of the goblets, the golden... Belshazzar. Yeah, they came from the temple, and they were all, you know, mocking God and drinking out of his sacred vessels. And they were having this big wine party. And as they were having their wine party, eating, drinking, and being merry, and whatever else they do in these orgies, the enemy, the Persians, were sneaking around in the dark.

25:23 They were right there. They were right there. Right outside the door. And this, you know, I have to understand with Babylon, the place was very fortified. It had a big, wide, you know, moat around it. It was, you know. Lots of fortification. The walls were very thick. They had soldiers everywhere, blah, blah, blah. But while they were all in their stupor, drunken in their silliness, the army snuck in. And by the way, so God warns him about 10 seconds before it happens. He writes on the wall. He says, hey, your kingdom's done. And then Daniel comes and says, yep, that's what it says. Your kingdom's done. And within the night, before that night. That very night. Yeah. The Persians busted in and killed Belshazzar. I think that's who it was, the king at the time.

26:08 And they took the king over. And that was the end of Babylon. While they were drugged, while they were sleeping. Yeah. And this is, you know, so God uses this. He warns us. This is how this happens. It happens in the natural. It happens in the spiritual. And so he says, through his cunning, he shall cause deceit to prosper under his hands. So people are going to want to be deceived. If you want to be deceived, you will be deceived. If you don't want to be deceived, then rebuke the lie and say, Lord, give me your truth, and you won't be deceived. It's your choice. You know, somebody, oh, just let me alone. It's fine. It's what's called willful ignorance. Yeah. It's just, I don't want to know. It is what it is, and it's, you know, nothing's going to change. Don't confuse me. Or I can't do anything about it.

26:53 Don't confuse me with the truth. You know, you have a life, and you are going to have a given account of your very life before the Most High God someday, and nobody else is going to stand up there and make an excuse for you and say, oh, let her in or endorse you or anything. You're going to have to give an explanation for what you did. And it's already written down in the books. You are writing a book about your life. There's the Lamb's Book of Life, and then there's the books we're writing. And all the stuff in our books, if it's not been forgiven, if it's not been confessed and repented, it will still be there as an indictment against us. Here's what Jesus said to his disciples regarding his coming and his kingdom.

27:33 Luke 21, 34 through 36, he said, but take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing. Yep. Drunkenness and the cares of this life that the day of the Lord the day of his return come upon you unexpectedly for, do not understand how, involved, and how, I don't know, whether even the word be enmeshed, or how evil has woven itself into the fabric of human existence, the snake pit, the deceptions, treachery, the fascinations, the enchantments, the lies, the witchcraft, the drugs, the medications.

28:34 The folly committed against our food, against our minds. It's amazing. The only way that we can stay clear of all this and to walk through this is to stay anchored in the word of God and follow him. Because the deception is to believe we get all banged up and wound up in trying to survive. And survive what? And for what? We miss the whole point of surviving and overcoming because we're just trying to do the day kind of thing. Some people want to survive so they can keep doing the same things that they're already doing. Over and over again. But God says there is a reason, there is a purpose, there's a plot, there's a plan to all of this.

29:16 And Daniel kind of concludes all that again in chapter 11 where he says, he's talking about in verse 1131. I'm sorry, let's do 32. You can read this. This is quite interesting. Those who do wickedly against the covenant, he shall corrupt with flattery. So against the covenant, the covenant of God, probably. But the people who know their God, so this man, this Antichrist, he's going to do wickedly against the covenant. Part of the covenant for the Jews is to the daily sacrifices, which they want to rebuild the temple and get back into the daily sacrifices, which basically also is probably a very sound and accurate sign of the return of Jesus Christ. They're going to rebuild that third temple.

29:59 That's at least what many say. I believe it to be true, but you check it out yourself. Those who do wickedly against the covenant, he, the Antichrist, will corrupt with flattery. How many people of God have been deceived by fame, position, a bigger church, a bigger name, a more well-known ministry, flattery. They've been bribed. They've been blackmailed. they've been bullied, they've been bought, they've been paid by the enemy, and they don't even know it. Satan is a fisherman, and he's using the bait that they want, more of God, a bigger church, a bigger this, a bigger that. Not just them, but I mean, whatever you want, whatever you're hungry for, that's what Satan will use to bait the hook to try to catch you on the lie.

30:45 And so the basic sweetness of the whole thing is don't be hungry for anything, just let Jesus feed you. Anyway, so they're they're going to be corrupted with flattery but the people but the people who know their god that would be the people who know the word who know the promises who know the goodness of god who know the power of the cross who know the power of the resurrection who know the power of being given authority their authority back to bind and loose and do the work of the kingdom the people have been restored to the truth the truth will set you free right and Those people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. What does that mean? Well, that means they're going to take down wicked schemes and citadels. They're going to expose darkness.

31:28 They're going to deliver people from demons. They're going to help people get set free from the strongholds that have held them hostage in their own lives. And those of the people who understand shall instruct many. Okay, that's good. They're going to teach people. They're going to bring truth again into the arena, at the city gates. and they will instruct many, yet for many days they shall fall by the sword, by flame, by captivity and plenary. So they're going to be picked on brutally, persecuted, tracked down. Tried to stop, killed, assassinated, all these kinds of things. Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help. This is to me always kind of a little bit of a kind of an interesting comment.

32:10 So they're going to be aided with a little help. So a lot of times when I need help, I'll say to God, yep, you said they're going to be aided with a little help, but a little help from you is a lot of help, so help me. How about that? But many shall join them by intrigue. In other words, they're going to join their ranks by intrigue. They're going to get in as that fifth column when they sneak in behind the lines and they're spies and they pretend to be with you. And some of those who understand shall fall. We see that now. We see leaders, spiritual leaders, normal people who loved it, fall, to refine them, to purge them, and to make them white until the time of the end, because it is still for an appointed time. So there's a refining process going on even amongst the people who follow God.

32:52 Yeah, and for those who follow Jesus, he said in Matthew 16, 24 through 27, and Jesus said to his disciples, if anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will reward each according to his works.

33:36 So what is the kingdom of God, what is eternal life worth to you? What are you willing to put in, invest in it? Jesus invested everything so that we could have a chance. And he says here, as you just read, anyone who desires to come after me, it's not going to be easy. There's going to be intrigue. There's going to be assault. There's going to be accusations. There's going to be flattery. There's going to be upsets. There's going to be crazy turns in the road. There's going to be spiritual attacks against us. Let him deny himself. Which does that mean? And that means you're not going to pursue your own plan. It's his plan. Yeah, and most of us, our problem is self. We're listening to a first-person impersonator of ourselves.
