0:00 I have an emergency, what is your location? Rescue Radio, cause there's a war for your soul. Yes, Father God, we know, we know the war is all around us. The war is within us. We are quite aware, Father. We thank you that your will be done. Your kingdom come in this war, that your purposes, your plan, your will, your kingdom, your will, all of it, yours be done on earth and in through us as it's being done and declared in heaven.

0:51 That will and that kingdom begins in within us, inside of us, inside of our own hearts, minds, and understanding. So Lord God, open our eyes today, open our ears today, cause and let us allow the Holy Spirit to bring his conviction to us today, his correction, his counsel, that we will be led and not misled by the deceptions of these last days. And I thank you, Jesus, that you've surrendered to the will of your Father, submitted completely, thy will be done, thy kingdom come, you said, and you did what had to be done. And thank you for dying for us, exchanging your life for ours, and putting us in the place of salvation and safety rather than destruction and death.

1:34 And I thank you also, Lord, for giving us your holy word. And may we rightly divide your word today as we seek to understand some of the more, I don't know, more deep or complicated issues of life. And I thank you that you quicken us by the power of your Holy Spirit to reveal those things to us at a level of understanding that we can grasp. And I thank you for the promise, the surrounding protections and promises you've given us that according to your covenant with us, that no weapon formed against us will prosper, that the words and deeds of the enemy will not take effect, will not take hold, cannot bring forth fruit in our lives, in the lives of our loved ones, in our purposes to which you've called us, in our destinies, that everything that Satan has tried to do to plot against us will re-backfire and turn out together for our good and blessing.

2:25 Father, we ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, there's a very intriguing verse in the Bible. It says, that says, if the light that is in to be darkness, how great is that darkness? What is God saying in that, you know, riddle, so to speak? If the light, if what you believe to be true and are acting on as true in your life is not the truth, then how deep and deceptive is that darkness? Yeah, also in Isaiah chapter 5 verse 20. It says, woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

3:12 It says, woe to those, continuing on in 21, who are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight. So their source of wisdom, their source of prudence, is coming from within a place, a source different than the Lord himself. So it's a true deception. You know, when you're deceived, you don't realize you're being deceived. And then what you think is true and right, if it's not true and right, but you believe it to be so, Jesus said, that darkness is very deep, very scary. Because you don't even know you're being deceived.

3:53 It's one thing for you to deceive, tell lies, tell lies to others. But when we are believing the lies ourselves and don't recognize them as lies because we have been so deceived and conned and the cunning of Satan has pulled us into that agreement. It becomes terrifying. Jesus said in Matthew 13, he said, blessed are your eyes for they see and your ears for they hear. So he's saying there is a place where we are actually blessed where we can know the truth. And so the question becomes then, how can we know if the light that is in this is light or darkness? How can we tell if we don't know what is the light in the first place?

4:38 How do we discern? And a lot of times the problem is, you know, with our discernment is we're looking at things through a lens, a lens of a belief system, generational curses, behaviors, other people's. We're looking at our lives through a lens and we're trying to determine truth by looking through a dirty, muddy lens and it doesn't work because the lens is not the Lord and not the word. So those dirty, muddy lenses are formed by our experiences and what we've grown up with. You know, we've grown up with different maybe religious ideas, ideas about God, ideas about life, and we think that's that's the way things are.

5:22 That's the way it is. And it may be totally far from what the truth really is. And so yeah, it's the truth. It's the truth that is that sets us free, but it's the truth that is the standard. So you have to have there's a standard. There's a truth. I mean, it's all the lies in this world system is full of lies. Yeah, and we're constantly presented as the truth, presented as truth, presented as good. You know, we have you don't have to think very far these days to see where all the things, the perversion that is put forth as good as the truth.

6:04 Yeah, this is good. Well, that's called it's not good. Yeah, everything from, you know, advertising on television to stuff on the Internet. It's stuff is presented as something as truth is something that's good, not evil. Yeah, but when you know the truth, you can see you can see that you put it up to the standard of the truth, the word of God, Jesus Christ, who is the truth, and then it exposed the truth exposes the error. And that's why the truth is hated. But in first in the Gospel of John chapter one, we talk about Jesus coming into the world as the true light, you know, not the false light, not the darkness that appears to be light, but he was the one who was the true light which gives light verse 9 chapter 1 verse 9 to light everyone who comes into the world.

7:02 So he was in the world and the world was made through him and the world did not comprehend him or did not know him. He came into his own and his own did not receive him. So there you have the beginning of the of the false light that's trying to blind blinded by the false light so that you cannot see the true light. So Jesus is the true light. He comes to that light examines what we're believing examines what we're doing examines and reveals in our hearts our intentions our motives our goals and assesses them according to the our adherence to the true light of God.

7:42 And so in the same Gospel John chapter 3, he's talking about verse 19. He says and this is the condemnation that light has come into the world and man that loved darkness rather than light because why because their deeds were evil and evil deeds don't want to be exposed by the truth or by the light Jesus is the truth. He's the light. It's kind of the same thing. He's the he sets us free with the truth. He brings light into our life, but everyone who practices evil hates the light and does not come to the light. Why lest his deed should be exposed because we don't want to be exposed but he who does the truth comes to the light.

8:26 So he who does the truth wants the truth walks in the truth that he's created to walk in by the Most High as he made us in his image and likeness to love the truth as we walk in that in that truth of who we are where we've come from. We will those people will come to the light that their deeds may be clearly seen that they have been done in God. So again, how do we know though Jesus said in Matthew by their fruits you shall know them. So when we're trying to discern what the light is if it's true light or a false light or if it's a light that a darkness that appears to be like what we must actually end up doing is, you know, very honestly looking at the fruit that's coming out of that that following that light that whatever we're agreeing with.

9:17 Yeah that in the fruit sometimes it takes a while for the fruit to appear. It seems like it's so good but you know, you can be enticed with you know, something as simple as alcohol or drug use or something like that. It seems oh so good illicit sex can seem like it's so good. But what is it? What is the fruit of it? What is the long-term fruit of it? It's very, you know, he says in James says you sow to the flesh and you will of the flesh rape corruption, which is destruction is the end of that when we think of something that is seems to be good at first but it turns out that it's actually darkness, but we don't see it and we ended up destroying our lives.

10:08 Well, the Bible says to what the heart is full of the mouth speaks are out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. So you're going to see the fruit of your life beginning in the heart what the heart is pondering what the heart is can't contemplating what the heart is full of comes out of the mouth. So that's part of the fruit to its part of revealing, you know, whether it's bitterness contention strife control envy murder violence all the things that we know are unrighteous or is the heart speaking things that that pertain to God in the character of God. And so again, we can begin to see if we're being deceived by a light a false light by if we honestly look at what's coming out of our mouth and out of our lives the actions the behaviors but the thing is so how do we know if we're deceived?

10:57 Well Jesus again, he said by their fruits you shall know them. So the you know the by their fruits will we look at do we want to look at what's really coming out of our life or would or do we want to make an excuse or blame someone else or blame God or even blame ourselves for the behaviors and not allow the Holy Spirit to call those those behaviors into the light to let them be examined by the word of God. So the word of God is light and so when our deeds are examined by the word of God do they line up with what the the heart of God the fruit of the Holy Spirit righteousness peace and joy do what we're doing and saying really line up or can we make it just we kind of make it try to look like it's lining up with what God has for us and a lot of times like what you read there in John chapter 3 verse 19.

11:48 We don't want the truth. You know, there's a line from an old movie says you can't handle the truth. But and so truth is a blessing, you know freedom is brings freedom the someone said that the truth will set you free. But at first it will make you miserable or mad because we don't want to be exposed. We want to be living in darkness. We know just like like rats living in the darkness of sin. We don't want to be exposed but it's a blessing to be exposed those that bring us the truth are our true friends. They're the ones that totally care about us, even though we don't like to hear it.

12:30 We don't like to hear it because we realize and it's hard. It's really hard Marjorie for us to admit that we're wrong. Yeah, or deceive haven't seen or that we've seen in part of it. It has to be a revelation, right? Because there's pride about revelation because there's fear information doesn't get it to get it to you. But when you realize oh my goodness, and that's what repentance is repentance is simply realizing. Hey, I was going in the wrong direction going in the wrong direction now, and I agree that Lord you said I've been going in the wrong direction, but you have provided a correct direction for me and giving us well, it's not always easy to correct the direction or going in because what is happening inside of us.

13:18 We think it's us making this decision to go in this particular direction or do this thin or whatever it is, but really it's not us. It's the enemy and Paul says it's not me doing if I'm doing what I do not want to do. It's not me doing it, but we don't realize we're up against a force an entity a resistance the spirit of Rebellion a spirit of hardness of heart a spirit of deception that is holding us and wanting to keep us bound in that place of of deception and in prison us in a bondage to a false light. And so what happens is, you know, we have to understand that there's an internal battle going on inside of us as well. It's not just me trying to be good or me trying to change or me trying to you know, turn around it is a real fight to turn around because there's stubbornness there's pride there's there's a shame there's guilt.

14:07 There's all kinds of disobedience and resistance to me returning to my true self because my true self made in the image of God loves truth and righteousness and light and goodness, but the enemy is trying to pour me into a mold lock me in a prison a concrete prison of bitterness pride fear unbelief doubt stubbornness witchcraft Rebellion that keeps me locked in a place of just of death actually and a lot of us are you know, all of us really are influenced by various leaders people who supposedly are the ones who give us the truth that influence us and Jesus said in John Matthew 15 myth.

14:54 I'm sorry Matthew 15 14. He said well in verse 13 hit the answer and said every plant that my heavenly father has not planted will be uprooted let them alone referring to the Pharisees the scribes and so forth. They are blind leaders of the blind and if the blind leads the blind both will fall into a ditch. We have that influence false leaders and you know that brings to the point the word Pharisees hypocrisy that what that they were these Pharisees that Jesus ran to the religious behavior of the self-righteous spiritually blind leaders these Pharisees they were the guardians of the light.

15:38 They were they were, you know, a self-appointed guardians. They were experts, you know on interpreting Old Testament scriptures. They had studied they had awarded themselves the positions and titles of Rabbi and scholars and they were excellent at disputing the law. And so they were really divisive in that they weren't bringing the law together to be presented as one thing that they were arguing this side of the coin versus that said the coin and they had different schools of thought and so it was very very difficult for the people to come and people to figure out do I go with A or B do I go with heads or tails their knowledge and their education their higher levels of learning and their sophisticated lifestyles kind of excluded them cause them to become puffed up and this puffing up causes love to shrink.

16:32 They did not see as a as Jesus comments in Revelation. They did not see that they are poor wretched blind and naked. So what we can first discern as a indication that we're being following a false light is the fruit of what's going on. And then of course we have to examine that fruit with integrity and say, you know, this isn't what God says, you know, we don't want to be just hearers of the word but doers also because if you just just hear it and don't do it it actually becomes an open door to deception as Jesus said. Let's bring this home here to those of us who claim to be followers of Jesus.

17:12 Okay, Revelation 317 and we're in the discussion there about the church at Laodicea. They were lukewarm. They were not hot or cold. I'd rather have you be hot or cold in your house. You're lukewarm. I feel like I can I want to puke you out of my mouth is basically what I'm saying. You make me nauseated and they thought they were doing so good. I mean we go to church. We have a great church great building great pastor. Everything's going good. We you know, we got missions going on all this kind of building program going on new campuses popping up everywhere campus here campus there.

17:54 But what did Jesus say to them? He said Because you say I am rich and have become wealthy and have need of nothing. Yeah, and do not know that you are wretched poor miserable poor blind and naked. So the deception is that they're they have all this luxury on top of it all is wonderful the Pharisees they were honored and you know, we've got everything and everything looks good. But underneath we're poor wretched blind and naked and we don't if you don't get to that place where you can actually admit that that's what's really going on. That's really the fruit of what's going on in your life.

18:34 You're poor wretched blind and naked or you're trying so hard to control things so that you can be okay. It's it's it's a game. It's a it's a we're caught up in the devil's snare, you know, and even Paul again. He talks about this. He says in first, I mean second Corinthians 11. He says but I fear less somehow as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness. So your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. So Satan is trying to deceive with lots of complications, you know, making things look complicated and like there's no there's a third kingdom and we can't really know these things and we've got to just you know, whatever that all looks like just do the best we can but he also in that same chapter talks about the false Apostles the deceitful workers of those who are trying to be look like their Apostles like they've really paid the price, but they haven't false Apostles deceitful workers transforming themselves into Apostles of Christ Satan himself also transforms himself into an angel of light.

19:39 This is the gimmick. This is the process where Satan wants to be God. He wants to look like God to you. He wants to be your Savior. He wants to set up a problem and bring the solution so you can look like he's you know, resolved it and saved you but these are angels of light that are running in and about in the context of the gospel of Jesus Christ. So the gospel of Jesus Christ has been infiltrated contaminated with these lying spirits that pretend to be us they pretend to be with us for us. They pretend to be one of us and they're actually leaders that you know wolves and sheepskin it receives that clothing Isaiah talks about this and Isaiah chapter 56 verses 10 and 11 his watchmen are blind.

20:25 Now if you watchman supposed to be looking after everything making sure things are okay and being able to give warning his watchmen are blind. They are all ignorant. They are all dumb dogs that they cannot bark sleeping lying down loving to slumber like an old dog laying on a porch that is not barking anything that's coming down the road anymore. Yes verse 11. Yes. They are greedy dogs which never have enough and they are shepherds who cannot understand that's a kind of a blindness. I would say right. Yeah, and they all look to their own way everyone for his own gain from his own territory.

21:12 They got their own little realm going on and we people both believe it follow it because we are not we're ignorant of what's really going on in the battle for truth and the deceptions that dress up to look like the truth these unfalse shepherds but so there's there's deception without people can lie to you and mislead you pretend to be something that they're not but by their fruits again, you shall know them going back to checking out. What are they? What is what they're saying matching up to who they what they're behaving and their fruit of their life. But the other part of that is that lens Satan puts a lens over our eyes so that the way you see life this way you see the light coming through is is corrupt.

21:56 It's dirty. It's filthy. It's full of pain judgments. It's full of error religious self-righteousness error things that aren't rightly divided not not correctly dividing the word of God. So these people that we think we look through these lenses and we think we have the truth you look through those road rose-colored sunglasses. You think everything is pink you take off the glasses. Ah, it is not pink. It has many colors. And so the false sense of truth. They're believing the things that are not Jesus if the truth that is in you be darkness like again, how great is that darkness? How are we going to discern that if you think it is or want to continue to pursue it as the truth you are deceiving yourself if we are refusing, you know to listen to the Holy Spirit who has been sent to lead us into all truth and triumph if we resist his counsel by continuing to embrace the lie, then we are going to be victims of the lie.

22:56 What we're believing is what we're used to it's familiar. It's comfortable. We're being deceived and we don't even know it again. Jesus is the light he will expose the darkness, but we have to be courageous enough to let the Holy Spirit convict us of sin and righteousness and judgment and not just be settled in it is what it is or I am what I am and I'm not going to change and I was born this and I'm not going to whatever all that resistance resistance to the Holy Spirit is resistance. Where does the resistance of the Holy Spirit come from where does that argument against the truth against surrender? Where does that come from? It comes from the enemy who is impersonating himself to you to get you to believe it's your idea and that you are in control of things when in fact the enemy is in control of things in your life.

23:47 So Paul writes to the church at Colossae and this is what he recommends to them in Colossians chapter 2 beginning of verse 6 and we'll read through verse 8 as you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord soul walk in him. Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith not just faith, but the faith. This is the body of Christian teaching doctrine. We should say as you have been taught abounding in it with Thanksgiving. In other words stay in the truth. Stay in the simplicity that is in Christ that you referred to a bit ago.

24:32 Then he says in verse 8 beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy that means a love of knowledge right and empty deceit according to the tradition of men according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ. So they can make lots of laws and you know make you follow those laws and think that you're following God and twisting all these things around to destroy and take away the true freedom and peace the fruits of righteous peace and joy that come from actually abiding in Jesus Christ. There have been surveys a lot of surveys in recent years about those who claim to be Jesus's followers.

25:20 Okay, and they find out that there's a very small percentage of even those that claim to be believers in Christ that have actually a biblical worldview a worldview according to the truth and the spiritual war there defile. There's a mixture. We've been sold a bill of goods and thinking well, you know, this is this is okay. This is that okay. We're satisfied with the plastic imitations of imitations were satisfied with the what we've been taught and influenced by the world after the traditions of men and not according to Christ. Well, the true test again is what is the fruit of your of your life the fruit of the spirit is that was operating in your life and Jesus said ultimately finally in the end when things got so bad so deceived everybody's just, you know, barking up the wrong tree everywhere that the only way we would know the true believer is by the love they have for one another and this is the rest of it's all going to be for show and that's going to fall away.

26:24 People are going to get bitter. They're going to get controlling. They're going to get vindictive all the offended all of these things that are already with us, but he says that the fruit by the fruit again going back to what is the fruit in your life? Is it peace righteousness peace and joy? Is it know are you anxious and worried? Are you striving? Are you trying to impress somebody or impress God or impress yourself? Are you still in that place of fear and anxiety or trying to look good? When God knows the truth, you know, you can't lie to the Lord. He already knows all about this. He knows the deception. He knows how you're being deceived. He knows how you where you started out in the snake pit what what you were up against what lies what programming was already operating in your DNA.

27:12 So so are we bottom line? Are we willing to live with the illusion of holiness with the illusion of following Jesus or are we going to walk as fearless warriors in the truth because only those who are walking the truth will be acceptable before God. So it is vital that each of us are exposed to the raw truth of the word of God because that is the standard. That's our compass. That's our guide our guide post should we say is the constant exposure to the word of God but every time and not just reading it with religious glasses, but we sometimes we need to just pray Marjorie just strip off the religious glasses strip off the preconceptions that we have about God about God and his word and we are and just say Lord just open my eyes.

28:15 I think a lot of what God does is he is doing that stripping down to the bare core of who we really are because there's been so much false added to it so much extrapolation so much extravagance so much deception that we don't even know who we are but the truth of God's word comes from walking in the word and often we do not comprehend the light because and but if you resist or reject the conviction of the Holy Spirit your heart our hearts become harder push deeper down into that darkness that we think is light and we want to comfort ourself with the idea that well, I'm a good person. Well, I go to church.

28:56 Well, I do this and that and whatever all that looks like but that is not what God is looking for. He's not looking for what you do. He's looking for the you to know who you are that you are his son or his daughter and because of that because you know who you are then you can be who you are created to be and you as out of do out of the being and abiding then comes the doing but if people are all bound up in striving even even striving to follow Jesus, I mean, you know, here's a kind of an interesting Problem people have in I'm following Jesus, but are you just following Jesus when following Jesus suits your own will and suits you when he is going in the direction you want to go in your convenience? Are you really following Jesus when you're only following Jesus when you want to do what you want to do and you make it look like it's Jesus or are we rebuking his will for us because it is not our goal. It is not what we want to do. So we kind of you know, make our own way and and say it's God's way. It's it's you know, like when when Jesus rebuked Peter God's way was Jesus is going to the cross now. That was a painful hard scary almost incomprehensible will of God. It wasn't, you know, pleasant. It wasn't going to bring forth a lot of immediate fruit of peace and joy. And so Peter is rebuking Jesus. He's rebuking the actual will of God

30:26 because he could he didn't want to go there and yet Jesus and rebuke the spirit Satan who was putting this thought in Peter's heart to rebuke and resist the will of God. So Jesus saw through what was going on Peter was being used by the enemy to bring forth a word of resistance to Jesus going to the cross and Jesus said Satan get behind me. You're an offense to me. And so a lot of times, you know, you can say something that looks good looks spiritual looks religious looks righteous looks like it might be God's will want it to be God's will and yet it's not God's will and so we want to realize that sometimes our own goals our own desires are the very thing Satan uses to catch us on the hook of the lies, but that our goals become the greatest obstacle to God's will in our life. And how did we decide on our goals? Was it by surrendering to the Lord saying thy will be done complete your course in me and to live as Christ to die is gain in him. We live and move and have our being was that the surrender that you're making or is it God? I want you to give I'm going to give you my life and here's what I want you to do with it. I want you to you know, make me smart and brave and wise and a conqueror and no noticed by others and a hero. So again, what is God doing? He's wrestling with us to let us try to cause us to trust him to let go of our plan our goals our ways to accomplish what we think is God's will and that his

31:57 Holy Spirit take us on that journey where we were we're following Jesus. We're to pray Lord your kingdom come your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven in and through us. Yes in us through us that we are now therefore Lord your servants we surrender our desires our goals and even what we want to accomplish the fruit looking at the fruit of our life father God let us honestly please Lord clear away the the cataracts of deception over our eyes so that we can see clearly what is going on in our soul because you are the one who leads us into all truth and victory and triumph and sometimes that doesn't look fun. It doesn't look like it's really working. You can look at your life and say wow, that was a kind of a flop look at Paul, you know, he was beaten and he was shipwrecked and he was homeless and he was hungry and he could have said well, you know that wasn't that didn't work. But in fact, he was a mighty man of God in the middle of a war and he accomplished great things for God. He told the truth. He laid down the foundation for the truth as he was a God to the epistles and so father let us not judge ourselves as Paul says I don't even judge myself. Let us not judge ourselves. Let us follow you truly and trust you completely and be filled with the fruits of righteousness peace and joy, which are by

33:27 the power of the Holy Spirit father. We ask these things for each of us in Jesus name. Amen. Now there's a manual that you have called the case for righteousness. Can you tell us about that? And so it's a very it talks it takes us brings us through salvation discusses issues of religion and lover and legalism versus relationship and you know all and places where we were wounded our hearts were broken.
