0:41 That you would secure us in your love, your health, your peace, your direction. Father God, we thank you that you sent Jesus, And Jesus, we thank you that you came to die for us in our place, to provide for us the way of life, the way of salvation, to deliver us from the sentences of death and the grip of the terrible one. And I thank you, Lord. You've also given us power and you want us to be well and you want us to know that we are loved and you want us to know that you love us and that we belong to you. So I pray that you give eyes and ears to the hearts of the people today to see and to understand what it is you have done and how that affects us, Lord, and brings us into the place where we can live an abundant life. I thank you.

1:27 We bind the powers of darkness who have so hoodwinked and deceived and drawn away the people of God into the swamp, into the snake pit, Lord God, where they are stuck and overwhelmed. We pray that you deliver us from evil and from the evil one this day and that we bind the powers of darkness that would blind and snatch and keep us from understanding the true components of this spiritual war. And we ask you now for divine protection as well, Father God, as you promised us. That no weapon formed against us will prosper, that no word said, no deed done, no action taken will be able to be used by the enemy to bring forth shame, trouble, or reproach. So guide us now in our conversation, Father God. In Jesus' name, amen.

2:08 There's a great confusion that rests over the people of God regarding the matter, in the matters of health and healing, divine healing. There's a lot of controversy. There's a lot of confusion and a lot of misery because people don't know what's going on. Is this God's will that I'm suffering like this? Does God really want me to walk in good health? Is this a punishment for sin? Am I being chastened by the Lord? Is this sickness, again, a result of sin, mine or someone else's? The man who was in the infirmity 38 years, Jesus said to him, See, you have been made well. Now go and sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you. So what is it that causes us to become sick? Is this the controversy or the conversation that God and Satan are in?

2:50 For example, was Job a sinner? No, Job had integrity. So it's not always about sin. What is it? Job had a fiery trial, an affliction. A lot of our believers are in great misery. However, their health is suffering because they do not know the love of God. They don't know how to begin. What is the problem here? Is it me? Is it someone else? Did I do something wrong? Is God mad at me? And the man born blind, what was his sin. So we have a man who didn't sin, and we had a man who did sin. We had, was it his parents? Jesus said, no, it wasn't. It's for his sickness. The blind man was for the glory of God. Then we see in Deuteronomy 27 and 8, all kinds of, a whole long list of things that happen, the infirmities and sicknesses that come upon people who did not obey the voice of God, and so those who walked away from him.

3:38 So the disobedience brought sin and sickness. So the question becomes are we suffering for righteousness sake or because we've sinned or someone else has sinned is it my fault is it my parents fault all of these are bringing a great confusion to the people of god in the in the area of how to come out from underneath this heavy duty. Issue of infirmity and sickness that has fallen upon us that we are buried under so today we're going to look at and go a little bit behind the scenes and look at the more spiritual elements of what goes on with sickness and with being overtaken by the strong man. So, Jerry, would you like to read in Luke chapter 11, starting with verse 20, I think it is.

4:25 Yeah, just start with the part where we get into the... Luke 11, 20, he said, But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoils. Amen. And he goes on to say, He who is not with me is against me. He who does not gather with me scatters. So if we understand correctly, who is the strong man, who is the stronger man, and of course, Jesus being the strongest man, we can rightly interpret this parable.

5:10 So Jesus tells us about the stronger man who overcomes the strong man. The stronger man invades the house to take over the house, the positions, the livelihood, the well-being, the health of the strong man who is you. So god gave us the lordship of the house and so the stronger man comes in to take away our our goods and our possessions our help our hope our health so but it says when the strong man is fully armed he guards his own palace his house and his goods his gifts his abilities his destiny is daily functioning his health are in peace safe and secure but what does that mean when the enemy he comes in when you're fully armed you're you've got your gear on when the stronger man comes what does he do to dismantle us to overcome us he takes from us our armor and the armor begins in ephesians chapter 6 with our battle gear uh begins with the way we protect ourself you know you have the armor and then you have the defensive offensive weapons so in ephesians chapter 6 what does it say.

6:18 Beginning with verse 10, it says, Finally, my brethren, what it means is that finally there means from now on. From now on, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. I'll just read all this, and then we can go back and comment. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

6:59 Stand, therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. So the armor that we're using to fend off or defend ourselves from this stronger man begins with the belt of truth. The truth holds together, keeps us from flying apart. It links us to God. It brings us to freedom, righteousness, peace, and joy.

7:40 And so many times what the enemy's called is the deceiver. So he comes in subtly impersonating us, comes into our house, impersonating us to ourselves, speaking to us in the first person pronoun, and begins to plant lies. Deception in the midst of us, and we become confused. So now we don't know what truth is. We don't know if God is really good all the time, or if God's mad at me, or if God's punishing me, or it's my fault, I'm sick. Or we just get confused. Yeah, that confusion. See, there's an undermining. This stronger man, the enemy, these demons are always there wanting to get in, wanting to get in and destroy, wanting to.

8:25 And the thing is, like you said, Marjorie, he comes in in ways that we never suspect. Yes, exactly. Because this is what I want. This is what I need. And really, that's what the devil's really doing. Yeah, exactly. So the truth is the antidote to the lie. The liar comes in, however, to present the truth in the first person pronoun, present it as reasonable, present it as what everybody else is doing, presenting it as the world's solution. He comes in to present the lie. And once you agree with the lie, bite the hook, say you're hungry for health and healing. So Satan dresses the hook of health and healing. He dresses that hook, the lie, with the bait of what you're hungry for.

9:08 So you bite into it. So we give up the truth of the word of God that has bound everything and holds everything in place. We give that up for the opinions, the trends, the controversies, the solutions of the enemy. And once you start to take his solutions and you're kind of like becoming compromised, is divided, the belt of truth is loosening, and you're not confident and sure anymore in who you are, who God is, then these lies begin to take over in our life. And that is the overcoming, it overcomes us, overtakes us. Then the second part of that is the breastplate of righteousness, which is our integrity, our identity, our character.

9:52 And when there are chinks in that armor, you know, little holes of sin have been burnt into the righteousness, there's shame, there's compromise, there's guilt, there's disobedience, then the fiery darts of the enemy. Slip in through those little chinks in the armor, and we feel ashamed, we feel guilty, we feel burned, we feel deserving of punishment. So the breastplate is being compromised. So you take that off, or you set it aside, or you compromise your values, or you don't listen to the word of God, then that breastplate doesn't protect us from those darts of accusation. And once the enemy has begun to accuse us and we accept that accusation, then we fall into his hands.

10:37 Because now you see, if I sin, what does Jesus say to do? Confess it, confess your faults one to another, pray one for another that you may be healed. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So confessing our sins is a way to be healed. So what you're doing is you're coming out of agreement with the lie and you're coming back into agreement with God. So that's really what confession and repentance is. So when you take away the devil's open door, the agreement you made with the lie, you shut that door and you say, no, no, I don't want that anymore, I want God, then the enemy's attack against us is thwarted and the fiery darts of doubt and fear and guilt and shame don't prevail.

11:24 But if those chinks in the armor are not addressed and closed, then we will be subject to the spirit of guilt, accusation, and the judgment that comes from the sin. So the armor is very important. So we have a problem, we have pain. We have, you know, discouragement, depression. We have fear. Physical symptoms of, yeah. All this kind of stuff. Spiritual issues, right? We have spiritual issues, negative spiritual issues that come against us. And what the enemy says to us is that, well, here's what you need. You need this drug. You need to do this. You need to do that. You need to try harder.

12:06 You need to go here and do this. You need to, you know. So basically, he gives us false solutions to real problems. Exactly. That's called the Hegelian dialect. He sets us up with the pain, the fear, the circumstances that he can manipulate. And so what we take as solutions bring us into bondage, more and more bondage. And it compounds the issues that we're dealing with, compounds them in a negative way, rather than bringing solutions and resolve. Exactly. that is exactly the devil sets up a problem and he brings us a solution to the problem which creates a second problem many times people are using various remedies medications whatever to address a symptom or an issue in their physical body but it but the side effects then cause you a whole nother set of problems and so it's always when you do it make a deal with the devil it's never a win-win.

13:06 It's always he wins, you lose, and he's going to trick you. It's a chain reaction of destruction. And it goes down, it continues on and on. And so, and then, you know, so he wants to, but he can't do anything without getting us to agree. So he has to offer us a solution and then we take the solution and it becomes the next step in the pit, in the process of being bound. What happens is that we are not aware. Most people are not aware that we are accepting. The devil's solutions, the demon's solutions to our problems. Because they're being presented as reasonable and possibly they could help us and we're desperate. And we don't go back to the really the root, root, root, root problem of why we're sick or why we have this disease or what's really going on and make our peace with God.

13:55 If we have peace with God and we are not, you know, and our helmet of salvation is not falling off our head, you know, a lot of times that's part of the armor too. People are not sure they're saved or if I were saved then why would all this bad stuff be happening to me so if we're not sure of our salvation we're not sure of our identity we're not sure of the integrity of God and you know the shoes were you know is God faithful to walk us through these difficult places you know as we go about our father's business or are we on our own you know all of these things that are armor that can protect us that are important And Satan is trying to attack so that we don't have confidence in who we are. Yeah, he talks about the shield of faith quenches the flaming missiles of the enemy. Like fiery darts. Fiery darts, fire arrows, or whatever it is.

14:43 So that shield. We trust the Lord. Basically, it is. We trust the Lord no matter what's going on, no matter what attacks are coming against us. We continually trust. But many people have dropped the shield of faith. they have become confused about the goodness of god or they become confused about their own righteousness or their salvation and they began they begin to slip around on the rocks of fear and circumstances and feelings and symptoms and feeling abandoned and lost and unloved and and so we drop the shield of faith doubt double-mindedness come in and james says if a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways let not that man think he's going to receive anything from the Lord.

15:24 So when the symptoms pound away at you and they're taking full center stage in your thoughts and in your life, you're not focusing on the Lord God. You're focusing on trying to fix the symptoms. A lot of what Satan in the world does is offers solutions to medicate the symptoms. But then we get the exchange is the deadly, deadly side effects, the poisons, the debilitating effects of medications that take away your ability to walk and talk and think and eat and know that you're loved. Yeah, and then part of the perplexity of this is that some of the most godly people suffer with sicknesses, diseases, attacks, and some of the most godly people just end up dying horrible deaths, and people say, where is God? Where is God?

16:23 Well, this is the whole confusion. This is the confusion because we don't go back to the very root and say, what's going on, God? What is the devil's right? What right is he claiming to do this to me? He doesn't have any rights in you after you're a blood-bought daughter, son of the most high God. But Satan wants to continue to claim his rights. And if we don't resist him, if we don't know what that right is, and if we just continue to plow forward on our own without the truth and the revelation of truth, then we're going to be bound and destroyed. The other thing is we drop the sword many times, the sword of God's word. We don't think it works. It's our offensive weapon.

17:03 And the sword of God is actually, the demons know about the sword. It's able to separate even to the dividing of bone and marrow. So any kind of physical issues you might have that need to be separated off of you, any kind of surgeries that are spiritual or physical that might need to be made can be begun with the sword of the word of God separating you from that thing, whether it's a disease or a tumor or whatever it is. The word of God separates and wants to bring healing and restoration. Yeah, in Ephesians chapter 6, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, the word of God that means the rhema word of God, the spoken word of God. It's not just Jesus who is the logos, the word of God. We're not just talking about the actual Bible, which is the Word of God, but he's talking about the Word of God spoken.

17:56 The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, the one that you declare that's spoken out and it's in your heart and it's spoken out. It addresses the issues. It addresses the enemy. It addresses the Lord God Almighty. So that's the sword of the Spirit. Well, you know, when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, he said, it is written, it is written, and then he would speak the word. He declared it. But we, you know, there's death and life in the power of our tongue, and I think a lot of times Satan is using our own tongue to lash us and beat us and whip us and drive us deeper into the very thing we're trying to overcome through fear.

18:37 It's never going to change. You know, we rehearse the symptoms. We focus on the symptoms rather than the Lord, the Savior. And so we just get driven deeper, and the stronger man dismantles us, continues to take over our house, divide us against ourselves, and destroy our health. And then, yeah, and you get advice from a lot of people. And a lot of times, advice from people is good. It's part of the wisdom of God coming to us through others that say, yeah, do this, believe here. This would help you. There's wisdom there and advice of others. But the thing is, too, that you have to really be discerning because there's a lot of opinions out there.

19:19 And opinions can really set you in the wrong direction. Well, yeah, and exactly. And so that's another confusion that the stronger man uses to dismantle us by dividing us, getting us to disagree with ourselves, with one another. We take in, we invite him these solutions to come in and be the remedies and be the solutions for the pain or the symptoms. And when you invite these things in, whether you're taking a prescription med or you're over the counter or illegal drug or you're, whatever you're doing, you are permitting whatever you're taking in, you're inviting it in to do what you hope and were told it would do. You are giving, yielding your will to that thing. And so that gives it permission to come in. And so many times in our desperation to be delivered, we're actually inviting things into our minds, our lives, our souls, our bodies that are not good for us.

20:08 And like with drugs, okay, you have all this pain. Take this drug. It'll make you feel better. You might feel better for a while, but it does not solve your problems. It's just a band-aid. Yeah, and there's a lot of confusion too. For a deeper wound. On every level, confusion is our enemy. Confusion divides the house. Even in our own spiritual world, those believers who want to and love and follow Jesus, there's so much confusion. So many slippery slopes that we stand on this doubt, double-mindedness. You know, there's systematic theology, there's church doctrine, there's all kinds of things that swirl around to spin us out of control or blow us, whip us down.

20:51 The enemy, he mutes, he muddles, he smothers the word of God, and he dismantles the power by shifting the focus from who I am into what I'm doing. And this is another problem. We must address our behavior because our behavior has come through a choice and choices come through believing a lie and operating in a sin. We must address that, but we must know that the behavior does not define me. I don't have to stick with that behavior. I can walk. There is a place. Jesus is the way, I can walk in a place of blessing and favor and obedience to God, and that is where I want to walk. And so even people who walk righteously are going to be, you know, attacked.

21:34 We see this. There's no immunity. Especially those who are godly and righteously. All those who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. And the attacks of the enemy, I would say. You know, just because Satan senses those who are most dangerous to him, and he will focus on, he will attack them subtly, he will attack them overtly. But we know that Jesus Christ is good. He wants us well. God, when Jesus came down here to do the will of the Father, he healed everybody. He didn't, you know, check their attendance record. He didn't see, you know, he just, he wanted them well, and he was doing the will of the Father.

22:19 So we know the Father's will is for us to walk in health and healing and be well. That is his desire for you. God is good. He wants us to walk in that place of faith and healing. And by his word, by his promise, by his power, we can walk in that place. However, there are many things that block us from walking in that faith and that power. And most of them are fear and sickness doubt unbelief i prayed for example i prayed and i begged i lit candles i i asked god to help me and he didn't answer me and so that and unanswered prayer is becomes an obstacle to the answer and so i'm becoming trained up reconditioned to believe it is what it is nothing ever changes it's never going to change.

23:09 And I'm, you know, whatever caught in this mess and I can't get out. And so we become panicky and trapped. We don't know the love of God. We don't know he's there for us. God is for us and wants us to deliver us out of this mess. I think of 3 John verse 2, beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers. Too often, I think we say we're looking for healing rather than for health. So when health fails, then there's a need for healing. But, you know, the old saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Right. So we need so many tons of cure these days because we are basically, for the most part, even you see in the Church of Jesus Christ, among believers, there's so much sickness, so much disease that's there.

24:05 And part of it, you know, there's many, many reasons for that. It's environmental. Well, it's a stronger man. He's doing whatever he can to take down the house. He's doing whatever he can to take down the people of God. And I think one of the problems is we focus on trying to get rid of our symptoms. Rather than getting to the root and origin of the problem. And so then we get tricked into making the agreement with whatever it is we're doing to medicate the symptoms, whether it's a procedure, a drug, whatever it is. And we're just dealing with symptoms and the symptoms are not the problem. The symptoms are, you know, there to reinforce the lie that you're sick, you're never going to get well, and all this stuff is your fault and your problem.

24:50 We have got to, if you are sick, if you are in need of healing, the first thing you must do is forgive yourself for believing lies, for inviting in the stronger man, for allowing the world or the church or whatever doctrine or whatever lie you have believed in to take over your life. You need to forgive yourself for believing the lies and ask the Lord God to forgive you for believing the lies. And then ask the Lord to show you what are those lies. Because the lies, most of them have, the devil's told you lies about the goodness of God and that God is not there for you. God's punishing you. You sin, you're guilty, and then you're punished for that guilt by getting sick. So forgiving ourselves and then coming to a real revelation, realization that I cannot live my own life without God. I have to have the Lord God. He is my life.

25:41 He's not just a part of my life. He is my life. And he wants every part of your life to be in that place of blessing and love and confidence in his goodness. And this is where the devil is trying to tear us away from God to make us believe God is not good. God does not care. And he's the one punishing you when in fact it is the enemy who is punishing us. Yeah, Jesus said when he sent the Holy Spirit, when he was going to send the Holy Spirit, he told his apostles this, that he's, I'm going to send the Holy Spirit and he will show you things to come. He'll glorify me. He'll lead you into all truth. He'll call to mind the things that I've said to you. So in pretty much every situation, we who are believers in Christ, We have the ability of the Holy Spirit within us.

26:32 And if we look to the Holy Spirit, he will say, so Lord, what is this? Lead us into the truth. What is this? What do you want to show me about this? What's the root of this? Right. A lot of times we don't really ask this. We just kind of look at the surface stuff like you're saying. Right. Because the Holy Spirit will just show us. If we will wait upon him, sometimes we need to stop and just read our Bibles or just listen. To what the Spirit of God is saying about what's going on. Oh, yeah, I haven't forgiven so-and-so. I haven't done this or whatever. The question we should ask is, Lord, what is the claim, I said just a minute ago, that Satan is making?

27:13 So what is the agreement I have made with whatever sickness, illness, symptom, what is the agreement I have made with that thing that has allowed the enemy to take me even deeper into this trouble, this illness, this disease? So here's the question Lord what is the agreement that I made that Satan is using to bring this calamity, this misery, this physical illness upon me what is the lie I believe where did I make that agreement, that you must go back to that place and then hook where you got hooked before you can be free so if it was something, a fear of the lie, fear told you that you know.

27:57 Whatever it was that I'm never going to be good enough, or I'm never going to be well, or I give up, or I hate my life, or whatever it is. Satan has gotten an agreement somewhere in your life to do what he's doing. The stronger man has overtaken you, knocked you down, grabbed your gear, stole your weapons, dropped your sword, the shield of faith, can't find it. And you're just sitting in your house being beat up and overwhelmed by this demonic, stronger man. And so who's going to rescue you from this is the strongest man, who is Jesus Christ. So coming back to truth, coming back to truth, first of all, where did I let go of the truth? Where did I believe the lie? Where did my breastplate of righteousness get knocked and hammered into?

28:42 Where did I lose my identity, the integrity of God? Where did I lose my faith and peace and confidence in God? Going back and asking the Lord to show you, this is the sickness you're in. And God wants to use it too. Satan wants to use it to destroy you, but God wants to use it to make you. For his glory. Yeah, to make you. A lot of it will come, his glory. To refine you, to bring you into, yeah, into faith. Well, Father, right now we pray for those that are listening right now that they have sickness, a disease, depression, fear, whatever it is that's going on. Lord, I pray, as we've said, Lord, show them the root of this.

29:24 Show them where they came into the agreement with this. Lord, things that in their generations that have affected them. But Lord, where did they latch on to this? Where was there an agreement? Where was there a thought? Where was there a decision to hook up with this? To believe fear. And to say it is what it is or whatever. we pray that you Spirit of God now you said you lead us into all truth and show those that are listening right now show them show them now and in the days to come reveal to them and then there is a solution and that's coming to you it's confessing it's forsaking it's repenting it's repenting it's trusting you and then you bring the healing you bring the freedom you bring the deliverance to them Father Father, we just thank you, Father, for your love for each one that's listening, for your desire to heal, Lord God, your desire to restore health to you.

30:30 And may your love, just the awareness of your love for them, come into a new dimension of understanding in each one, Lord. Yes, Father, and may the will of God, which is for us to walk in health and healing and hope. And to be fruitful and productive in the kingdom of God. May the will of God be done in your life. And wherever your will has been bound, and wherever the devil has taken over your will, let the will of God prevail. Come back into full agreement with the Lord God, and that his will be done in your life for you to be healed. For God is for us. He's not against us. He said he sent his word and he healed them. He healed them of all their diseases.

31:12 Lord God, yes, we know we fall into sin. And we know that we're tricked into doing things, believing things that are not good for us. But repentance and confession are the two remedies God gives us to back out of those agreements. So, Lord God, I pray that wherever you say, well, you're saying I'm sick because I sinned. You're sick because you believe the lie. You're sick because you listen to fear. And then fear prompted you to do a sin. And then the sin brings in the demonic judgment. So, in a way, yes, you are in trouble because you sinned. But the sin is what you need to deal with in backing out. And sometimes it's not your sin. But the lie is still there. The lies maybe I, the devil makes up stuff about us.

31:55 So Father, we just pray that you'd help us to get through to the truth, back to the truth of who you are, who we are, and that we will walk in knowing that we are loved and it is your love that heals us, Father God. We ask that in Jesus' name. And may there be miracles and healings in the people today, even those who are listening. May you begin to look at what's going on in your own life, in your own health, and ask the Lord serious questions about what's going on, what's the truth I need to know. I believe, Lord Jesus, for my healing, and we thank you, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen. Tell us a bit about your book on healing.
