0:00 Music. Rescue Radio, because there's a war for your soul. Yes, Father God, we thank you for this opportunity to dwell in this place and fight the good fight of faith. We thank you that the war has already been won because you are victorious and you have overcome.

0:40 Thank you, Lord, that your will be done, even as it has been done this year, be done this day now in the name of Jesus Christ. And we thank you, Lord Jesus, for accomplishing your mission in coming here to die for us, shed your blood, pay the price, and release whosoever will. So, Lord, I pray that now many will see this gift of salvation and cry out to you and receive their forgiveness, receive their passageway into heaven. I thank you for the power and authority also that you've given us, Lord God, to do this, to stand in having done all, to stand and to withstand in the evil days. And we thank you again for your grace, your wisdom, your revelation, and the breakthroughs.

1:23 Father, we ask for breakthroughs for 2025 as we seek your face to do your will and rejoice in the strength that you've given us, Lord. And we also ask one more thing, actually lots more things, but one especially that you've promised us that no weapon formed against us will prosper. So may the evil intentions and schemes of the enemy be brought to nothing. The words, the plans, the plots fall to the ground covered with the blood of Jesus, that they will not be able to take hold of our families or ourselves, Father God, that your will be done in our lives unhindered, and that you'd send the angels of God to watch over us all as you keep us in this place to do your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

2:03 Amen. Well, I've got a question. Uh-oh, another question. For those that are listening today, are you circling or conquering? Are you going in circles or are you conquering? And we want to look at Deuteronomy chapter 1 as our basis here today. Verse 6, the Lord our God spoke to us. This is Moses speaking to the new generation, the younger generation that was going to go into the promised land. That survived the 40 years in the wilderness. That survived the 40 years of the wilderness. These are the 20-somethings here that he's talking to then. Yeah, well, the 20-somethings that were probably teenagers at the time when they started wandering in the wilderness, 40 years old.

2:52 Now, some of them could be like in their 60s, but they're still the new generation. Okay. So what Moses says is he says he's giving a review to the new generation of what had happened and what they were going to be doing as they entered the promised land. The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, which is the same as Mount Sinai, where the law was given. You have dwelt long enough at this mountain. Turn and take your journey and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains, and in the lowland, and in the southland, on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites, and to Lebanon, as far as the great river Euphrates.

3:38 See, I have set the land before you. Go in and possess the land which the Lord God swore to your fathers. So basically, he says, you've been around this mountain long enough. It's time to get going. It's time to get away from where you've been. The circles. And move in. The cycles. They were going around and around. And what happened with that older generation, Marjorie, is that they were disobedient to the Lord. They were called to, they came to Sinai to receive the law of God so they could go into the land, take over the land of their enemies and live there and enjoy that land and serve the Lord their God.

4:21 But they were afraid, the 12 spies that went out. Yeah, I remember the story. Two came back with a positive report and the 10 said, we can't do this, there are giants in the land. And so the people freaked out, they got afraid. They said, okay, they actually left Mount Sinai, but they wandered. Forty years. Forty years they went in circles in the wilderness. And some of us are. Well, that journey actually would have taken 11 days. It was an 11-day journey from Mount Sinai or Mount Horeb to the edge of that promised land. It wouldn't have taken them so long if they wouldn't have been so fearful and double-minded. And I think that's the problem with our lives, too. We go in circles, and I think you have a good definition of a circle there.

5:06 Yeah, well, we've all heard the expression going in circles, and basically what that is is this. It means to repeatedly do the same thing. Without making any progress toward a goal. Wow, that's defeating, that's futile, that's discouraging. Yeah. But I think that's what a lot of people's lives look like. They go around in circles. They just try to survive today, tomorrow. They're just kind of, some of them just even like laid aside their life because they don't even want to live it anymore. It's like a merry-go-round. Yeah. You're moving, but you're not getting anywhere. Not making any progress. No progress. Nothing new, yeah. And again, going in circles means getting stuck and not achieving anything by continuously returning to the same point or problem.

5:52 It's a frustrating cycle of unproductive repetition. Repetition. So you're returning, you're going around, but you go to that same point and you're not getting anywhere. Well, I think one of the things that causes that is, you know, we get into these ruts. We're programmed actually and we are stuck with or addicted to or enticed by or mesmerized by or stupefied by bad habits and fears and we become unfruitful because we don't realize the enemy within us there's a lot of enemies outside of us and they can weary us enough but when we become our own worst enemy as Paul said to Timothy.

6:36 Being set up in opposition to ourselves, we can really talk ourselves out of a lot of things. And it's really important to discern the voice and guidance of the Holy Spirit in this journey. Otherwise, we're just going to be going in circles and always the fear is feeding more fear and failure just brings forth more failure. And so when God is telling them to get up and go, So, you know, actually, you've been around this mountain too long. Well, what are some of the mountains that we have been hanging around? Maybe it's time today to look at personally, let the Holy Spirit examine you. So what are the mountains that are in your way that are holding, what obstacles are holding us back?

7:19 Well, everyone, we all have mountains in our lives that we circle around. Obstacles, opportunities, opposition. You know, sometimes, here's another thing. Sometimes God brings us to a certain place in our lives, right, for a season. For a season, for a reason. And we stay there, and that's good. But then God is saying, okay, time to move on now, and I've got something more for you. And then sometimes we get to mountains that the enemy erects in our lives. And we surround those. We go around and around those. And these are mountains where we don't belong.

8:01 But in the meantime, interesting too, just an aside, when the people of Israel were wandering in the wilderness, Even though they were being disobedient, they were rebelling, they were complaining, they were still being taken care of. They had manna, they had water, their shoes didn't wear out, their feet didn't swell. They had the pillar of fire by night to guide them and the pillar of cloud by day to guide them. But let's look at some of the mountains that we may have in our lives. So God was in the midst of them even though they didn't really recognize it or began to take it for granted and didn't count their blessings. I think that's one of the problems, too. When we get hanging around a mountain too long, we lose our ability to be grateful and to recognize what God is doing and has done and continue to—we murmur and complain like they did because we're not thankful, actually.

8:53 Yeah. Well, what about mountains? Things in your lives that you just kind of circle around that are there, and there's something that they're always there, and you don't seem to leave them, right? You're used to them. They're familiar. You get used to them. You adapt. This is a problem with so many things is we get so used to things. Substandard, yeah. We get used to things. How about Mount Offense? Well, I want to stay mad until God will bring justice. That's kind of the attitude is if I stay mad, I don't forgive. I'm going to keep this in my mind until God does something about it. Well, God did something about it 2,000 years ago when he gave you the opportunity to forgive that person so that crime, that injustice could be turned over to the court of heaven where God could deal with it.

9:42 But then that requires that we trust God to do something right and do something in our favor. And so many of us, we think, I can't let go of this because after a while, after a while, it becomes a rut. It becomes your rite of passage, your excuse, your victim. It becomes a grave. Yeah, exactly. So some of us may need to, for this new year, lay down that spirit, demonic spirit of offense that has been nurturing and watering and growing this bitter fruit in your life. Because the offense is going to bring you to physical problems in your body, Hebrews chapter 12. Lest any root of bitterness spring up, defile many. So it shows up in your joints.

10:28 It shows up as arthritis. It shows up as friction in relationships. Bitterness is not okay. So you can tell that spirit of bitterness to go and then ask the Holy Spirit to root it out. I mean, you can't wait for somebody to come along and give you a word of knowledge, a prophetic word, or a root. Some of these things, you know, I have to pull the weeds out of my own garden. And I don't wait for my neighbors to come by and pull my weeds because I'm tired of pulling my weeds or I'm too, whatever, bored or whatever. You get on your knees, take a hold of your own life. Most people have just laid their lives aside. You know, I'll deal with my life later. Right now, I want to watch TV. Right now, I want to eat this fine, you know, French steel cake pie.

11:10 I don't have time because I'm too busy feeding and nurturing and coddling my poor wounds and my poor me. So offense. Go. What's the next one? Well, like you said, the offense leads to unforgiveness. Unforgiveness leads to bitterness. Well, bitterness against God, too. And that can be just a stronghold. And so forgiveness, true forgiveness unhooks us, gets us away from that mountain. You know what? Just speaking of unforgiveness, I think unforgiveness is the thing that unhooks us from all these mountains. You have to unforgive yourself. You have to forgive others. You have to forgive God, which means you release them from your judgment. It doesn't mean, oh, it's okay what just happened to me. It's fine if they just run over my dog.

11:51 No, it's not okay. But what are you going to do about it that's not going to get you in more trouble? Because if we try to judge, we're going to become judged by the devil. So give it up to God. Say, Lord, here's the deal. And so for the next mountain you talked about a moment ago is fear. Yeah, fear. And the thing is too, so much. Unbelief. Of what we do is fear. Fear of what other people think. Anxiety. fear of panic yeah fear and anxiety basically are the root causes of pretty much every disease yeah exactly this is what i was going to say fear stress and anxiety and so fear is the absence of love so the problem with people who can't get well a lot of times or stay sick sick or in pain not all the time but a lot of times is that they don't know the compassion and the love of god and As a matter of fact, they're very much questioning the love and compassion of God, because if He were so loving, why would He let me be in this place for so long?

12:50 So that's an endurance test. I mean, there's many tests we go through down here. You don't just get one test, pass it, and you're done. It's usually they're coming right one after another, and we're walking. And many times, the Lord is just simply carrying us on this path because it is so treacherous. Now, it's interesting. I was hearing the other day about a book, about, it's basically a compilation of scriptures. 366 verses that just specifically say, don't fear. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. And in other words, it's one for every day of the year, including leap year. So perfect love, perfect love is the antidote for fear. So if you know that God loves you, he's going to take care of you. He's keeping his word to you.

13:38 You're more precious to him than anything else. He's died for you. Then really it's all on him. The problem is on him. The solution's on him. The escape, he is the God of escapes. He's the God who is the escapes from death. Fear is not good for you. It's not good for any of us, but yet that is the whole atmosphere of this snake pit is to create anxiety, fear, trouble, worry about this, worry about, and all this kind of stuff, worrying about stuff you cannot even change. Most of the time we're upset and worried about what other people are going to do or not do or should do, and you have no control over that. Your control is over you and your ability to give your fears to God and trust God for them.

14:20 So there's another mountain that we call a discouragement. There's a mountain of—so fear can lead to discouragement. It's like— Defeat, yeah. Think of it, discourage. In other words— No courage. The courage— Is gone. Your courage is gone. Drained out of you, yeah. And it's like we need to have courage to live in this life. Well, then we're gonna have to ask God to give us courage because Satan is here to beat the courage out of us. Yeah, I think of David in 1 Samuel chapter 30, there was a place at Ziklag where he had gone away with his men and the enemies had come in and taken away the wives, the children, their substance, it was all gone.

15:01 They come back, they found everybody was gone. They'd been stripped away, taken away by the enemy. And they were all mourning. He and his men were crying, mourning. Where are they? What's going on? This is terrible. And then they wanted to kill David on top of it. Blaming him for what had happened. And there was nobody around to pat his back and say, it's going to be okay, David. So what does it say? says particularly, and I like the way that the old King James says it, David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. Now, sometimes, thank God we have people that come alongside us at times and encourage us, lift us up.

15:44 It's such a blessing. But sometimes, what do you do when there's nobody around to encourage you? You have to come to the point of encouraging yourself in the Lord. And then at that point, you're inside of yourself, and then the question becomes, well, whose report am I going to believe? Am I going to believe what it looks like? What Ziklag looks like was a mess, loss, kidnapped, whatever. They didn't know. Am I going to believe what it looks like, what it feels like, what people are saying about it? Or am I going to believe what the Lord God says about it? And what happened there, he encouraged himself and the Lord. They went back. They got built up. They got over their boo-hoo stuff, and they said, let's go get the enemy. They went after the enemy.

16:29 They recovered all their wives and their children. Yep, so they recovered all. There's a scripture that says there when it was all said and done, David recovered all. So there's a recovery when we can, you know. Turn this trouble over to God. It's turned around. Yeah, if you have trouble in your life like a sick light going on in your life, you know, you can go down to that place of discouragement, sit down and. And weep and give up, or you can say, God, here's a big opportunity for you to pull me out of this mess, because really, we're in this with God, and God is in this with us, and Jesus said, I will never leave you or forsake you. So some of these things say, what am I going to do? I can't do this. It's too much.

17:11 It's never going to work. It's too big. I need a miracle, and I don't believe in miracles anymore. So why don't you just settle down and say, God, this is your problem. This issue, this relationship, this sickness, this word against me, this job is your problem. If you would do that, if we would start to surrender our problems to the Lord instead of trying to solve all of our problems ourselves, we would be in way better shape. And when you're encouraging yourself in the Lord, you cannot listen to that little voice inside of your soul that says, oh, it's your fault. You're never going to make it. You need to tell him to shut up. Shut up. You're not listening to that counselor from hell that's impersonating you to yourself and speaking to your own mind as a thought, as a temptation to be discouraged.

17:56 You're going to say, shut up to him, and you're going to say, Holy Spirit, what do you got to say? And that's how David encouraged himself in the Lord. He didn't listen to the guys around him. He didn't listen to what it looked like. He didn't even listen to himself. He encouraged himself in the Lord. Yeah, and jumping to another one here called Mount Self-Condemnation. That's a big one. He could have condemned himself. He said, oh, man, I shouldn't have been here. Never should have left the town. Never should have went out. What was I thinking? What was I thinking? If I would have been here, this wouldn't have happened. You know, we are so prone to live with self-condemnation. We didn't do it right. You know what that is, Jerry? That self-condemnation, making yourself the center of every problem, making yourself the center of every victory.

18:43 You become the center. You are the idol. your failure or your success and it's all about you, And so self-condemnation is an inverse of pride. It's pride in reverse because you're still thinking about you and it's my fault. You and I don't have that much power to do anything except to cry out to God. And that's where our peace comes from because he is faithful. He is faithful to complete the work he's going to ask. Yeah, and along with self-condemnation, there's how about Mount false identity? Mount false identity. In other words, we've got a wrong concept of who we are. That's come from our environment, our upbringing, birth order in the family, our relationships.

19:30 And a lot of it is coming from hell. The snake pit. Because we're just saying, oh, you're such a bad person. Yeah. You failed here. You failed here. And again, it's a focus on yourself. It's an inverse form of pride. But we develop our self-concept based on our experiences and thoughts and the lies that come into our minds and our hearts from the enemy and our identity. And so to get away from that mountain. We have to realize.

20:10 Go to the word. Yeah, realize that, yeah, oh, I'm missing it. That's not who I am. And then to look to the Word of God to see who we are. We're chosen, we're accepted, we're redeemed, we're loved, all that sort of thing to recognize who really we are in Christ Jesus. Well, to recognize who we are, we have to recognize where we come from. We came from God created by him. We're his idea, not our idea. And the second thing is to know where we are. We are here in the devil's snake pit. And the devil has changed the rule from one of identifying us through where we've come from through our being and changed it, flipped it around to be you're defined by what you do.

20:55 So everything is based on performance or lack thereof, all praise and recognition and promotion and money. Everything that comes through that system is based on a reward where you've earned something, which teaches us over and over and over, you've got to earn something. You've got to do something to be something. And this is all backwards. And as long as you want to stay in that backwards mentality and that backwards paradigm, you're not going to get away from these mountains at all. You have got to recognize that we are trapped, tricked, and hoodwinked in this snake and the only way to get out of it is to go back to the word of God. Who says, no, no, that's not the way. This is the way. I am the way.

21:39 Let go. Trust me. Believe me. And so if your things that you're doing and trying to do to fix something don't work and you do it again and it doesn't work again and you do it again and again, and then you add a little bit more something to it and it still doesn't work, then that's called stupidity. That's called insanity. That's called that is not working. That is called recognize that what you're doing is not working and sit down for a minute and look up and say, God, what do I need to do? What do I need to know? What do you want me to know here? We've got to turn our problems over to God in 2025. You just have to. And that begins with a place of surrender and repentance and laying down our ideas and our plans and our attempts to fix things and say, God, I can't of my own self do nothing, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

22:28 Yeah, and we're at a place, too, where it takes a revelation. Exactly. Otherwise, we just kind of live in that, I so hate that phrase, it is what it is. Don't even say that over yourself anymore, because that is just recycling the problems. That's not giving you a solution to anything. It's just giving you permission to not deal with anything. And when you don't deal with something, it doesn't go away. Yeah, and it takes, see, the thing is we get so familiar. With these things. Used to it, yeah. We get so used to being sad. We get used to being depressed. We get used to being fearful. And then. We get used to being addicted. Yeah. We get used to being discouraged.

23:11 We get used to being bitter and unfamiliar. These are the familiar spirits, honey, that just surround our thing. They're like the rooms we live in. They're familiar. The defeat, the hopelessness, the poverty, the lack of hope to be able to get out of this mess. We're trained and programmed in certain specific boxes or programs and mindsets, and they're familiar. They're like the rooms you live in, and sometimes you have to step out of that room to get out of it. You have to step out of the room of familiar poverty, stupid, sickness, condemnation, self-condemnation. You have to step out of the room and you say, well, I'm used to this.

23:55 Well, it's not fun. If you be honest with yourself, you don't like your life unless your life is dedicated to and hooked on God and believing his report instead of the devil's fearful reports. Well, going back to Israel there, they were there at the mountain. There was this powerful physical demonstrations of earthquake and light and sound. They just got through the Red Sea. And they're heading out to, you know, they said, wow, this is the place where we need to be. I mean, God is here. God is here. But God says, okay, yeah, I'm here. You were here. To get this law, you were here to see something of my power and greatness, but now you're called to leave this mountain and you go take the land.

24:45 There's something that I have for you. I've prepared things for you. You have to leave this comfort, this familiar place, and go into what you have. Well, here's what he was sending them. Here's another thing. He was sending them into, like you're talking, He was sending them into, he said, you go to the north, go to the south, go to the seacoast, go to the, but where was he sending them? He was sending them straight into enemy territory. Enemy territory. To take enemy territory. Because the enemies had overrun the inheritance God had given his people. So he was going to send them back in there to take back that which was rightfully theirs. And this is what Jesus has called us to do.

25:27 You know, he's called us to go and take territory. He said, go into all the world, preach the gospel, make disciples of all the nations. He didn't say it would be easy. He didn't say just sit around and have church and have pot blessings. There's a place to have time to have church services. There's a place for getting together, eating and supporting and encouraging. That's very important. But we just can't stay there in comfort zone. The church at Laodicea was in their comfort zone. They thought, oh, we're rich, we're increased with goods, we have need of nothing. Need of nothing, and they were poor, wretched, blind, and naked. And they were poor, miserable, blind, and naked.

26:07 And they didn't know it. And they didn't realize that. So we're built for worship. And war. We're built for warfare. We're not built for wandering and wasting our lives. Yes, exactly. And I was just thinking about the prodigal son, you know, that lived in, his mountain was rebellion, self-centeredness. So he gets up, spends all his money, thinks, I got this, I'm young, I'm strong, I'm going to get all this. He ends up feeding pigs, and he is thinking about eating the stuff that the pigs wouldn't even eat. And it's that nobody gave him anything. There was nobody there to enable him to keep him going in the wrong direction.

26:48 The enablement stopped. Yeah, and that has to stop for some of you, too. You have to stop enabling because you're afraid if I don't enable them, then they will fall and they'll die. Well, yeah, that could happen. Not to say in that, but it's not your job to keep them alive anyway. It's your job to bear one another's burdens, but also to know when it's time to let go. But that's another subject for maybe another day. Well, here's what happened with the prodigal and the pig. Yeah. He had the revelation. Yeah. He said... What am I doing? Basically, he said, what am I doing here? What am I doing here? He says, I... You know, that's the revelation people need to have. That's it. What in the world am I doing here?

27:29 What is this? This is not where I belong. Is this the life I want? I belong in Father's house. I belong in relationship with the Lord God. To something better than this, yes. And so that revelation, it says in the scripture, it says, when he came to himself, he came to that realization that I don't belong here. This is a mountain where I don't belong to. I'm circling around this mountain. I can die on this mountain if I don't get out of here. I can die here with the pigs. And he says, I'm going to go to my father's house. He's got plenty of food. Everything's good. And he did. And he made a decision. The revelation led to an action of him going to his father's house.

28:14 And he was fully restored. Some people say he would say he hit bottom or the bottom. Well, he was at the bottom. He was wise enough. He had enough love. His father was praying and he took that opportunity to get up and know that he could go back there and at least be a hired hand in his father's household. So the thing is, but Jesus doesn't want us to be a hired hand. He wants us to know that we are sons and daughters. So the thing is, here's the deal then. We've got to get sick of the mountains we're hanging in. you've got to see this mountain is not you. It's not helping you. And you might need to get some deliverance. You might need to take some action to just say, this is enough because it's your life and you, and you maybe have to repent for having laid down your life.

29:00 Laid it aside, not in a good way, laid it aside and let other people run over it because you don't care for it. You don't value it. You don't treasure it because you know, you've believed too many lies. And there's so many people right now that are just, they have no strength left to live. They don't know how to eat right. They don't know how to get themselves out of their mess. They go somewhere to get help and they get pushed deeper in the pit. So there's just a whole lot of things that the only, only one that can help you for sure, that will not let you down is the Holy Spirit who's been sent to live inside of us. And he brings the word of God to us. So the only real escape from this mess is through the Lord Jesus Christ. Exactly, because back then.

29:47 They said, you've got to leave this mountain. There was one mountain they went to, and then there was another mountain called Mount Seir that they wanted to. They hung around for a while, and God said, you've got to leave this. And the way, the only way, they left the mountain under this new generation, left the mountain under the leadership of Joshua. He's the one that led them in to possess, to conquer and possess that land that God had promised them. And so right now what you're saying is that Jesus Christ is the one who leads us. He leads us away from circling and losing to a place of conquering and possessing.

30:29 And sometimes, you know, it looks like, well, they kind of went out as a group, which was nice. They had one army and they pretty much had one task and that was to go and conquer. Sometimes we have to go out with one. That's just me. I don't have a whole bunch of people following or cheering me on or wanting, you know. or wanting the best for me or even giving me good advice. What I have to do is know that I need to change, and God's the only one who can change me. I'm not going to make a resolution. I'm going to ask for a revelation. Amen. And so, Father God, for today and for this next year, Father, we petition for the revelations to be just poured out among the prodigals, among the lost.

31:09 Among those who are hanging around the wrong mountain, been dwelling there too long, giving up on their lives, giving up on hope. Father God, you are the only one. You are the only one who has the power and the truth and the revelation to pry us loose from these pits. So Father, we're praying right now in the name of Jesus Christ that 2025 will be a year of absolute recovery of all, a restoration, moving out of this mountain that's been bound and we don't belong here anymore. Let us as warriors and worshipers, go forward in the authority and the anointing that Jesus Christ died to give us. Let us not be fearful or afraid, Father. So in anyone who's listening today, Lord God, inspire their mind and heart right now.

31:53 If they've been in this thing a long time, whatever it is they've been used to, almost getting used to it, almost giving up and thinking that it'll never change. Lord, will you just minister to them by your spirit, visit them, pull them up out of that quicksand and set them on the solid rock. Christ Jesus, put your hope in their heart, your joy in their step, and deliver us from evil. Father God, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. So what would you suggest for reading material as we enter into this new year? You've got a lot of it, but let's focus on one particular one. Well, you know, the newest book I've written is called Spiritual Warfare and How Deliverance Can Change Your Life.

32:36 And it's really getting familiar with the rules of the war, how to understand why Satan gets to do what he does and why God lets him, et cetera, all those kinds of questions. If God is so good, then why? So I would say the best thing you can do for yourself if you like to read is get a hold of that book.
