0:24 Rescue Radio, because there's a war for your soul. Yes, indeed, there is a war going on for our soul, and it's crazy out there. So, Father God, we thank you for peace. We thank you for wisdom. We thank you for protection. We thank you that our protection comes from you and your kingdom come. We know there's a clash of the kingdoms right now. There's a super pressure, a division, strife, stress, everything. It is cracking and breaking this world system. And we pray, Father, that you are our shelter, our strong tower. Our rock of refuge in this time of crisis and crazy. So, Lord Jesus, we thank you that you said you are that.

1:07 You said you are the strong tower, the righteous run into it. So we're going to run into you, stay safe under your feathers until this commotion be overpassed or passed over. And we thank you, Jesus, for your faithfulness to keep all of us. We thank you for your goodness and your kindness that never changes. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. And we thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross. We thank you for doing that salvation for us. It's a real divine, it's a real thing. It happened. It's available. It's salvation. It's the way out of here. It's the way of escape. You are the way of escape. So we thank you, Lord God, for making that way of escape. We thank you for giving us eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to receive this revelation, this message, and that you'll calm our hearts down and that you'll cause us to know who we are, that we are yours, that we follow you, and that you give us courage, strength, and wisdom to do that.

1:57 We also thank you for the divine protection that no weapon formed against us, no word said, deed done, or action taken within or without is able to be used by the enemy to destroy us or separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. So tuck us into the safety of the palm of your hand. We've been inscribed upon the palm of your hand in our families, all that pertains to us that we will stay in that place of gladness and joy and thanksgiving, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, today we're going to talk about this very interesting concept of being ready. Be ye ready, Jesus said in, I think it's, yeah, it's in Luke 12, verse 40. Yeah, go ahead and read it if you want.

2:41 Yeah. Well, he says, therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect. Now, you think, well, yeah, this is common sense, but not really. It's not very common these days. But if you're preceding this statement, he's coming in an hour when you do not expect, he's talking before that about people who are practicing and trying to be rich and save themselves that way, and the people who are worried and spinning and trying to toil like the lilies. He's talking about these, be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, seek the first, the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you.

3:22 He's kind of prefacing all that and summarizing it with this, be ye also ready. So the question becomes, the Lord is coming in an hour when you do not expect. And what are the things that are keeping us from expecting the Lord? What are the things that press us, the urgent things that surround us, that diminish? The admonition to be ready. I mean, be ready, ready for what? How do I get ready? How do I prepare? Well, a lot of, do you think of all the time that we spend in our lives, daily lives, getting ready for something? You know, sometimes we think, oh, I'm not ready. Hurry up, let's go.

4:03 We've got to get there. Oh, I'm not ready. We spend so much time preparing. But Jesus didn't say, get ready. He said, be ready. Yeah, that's right. Be prepared. That's a constant, ongoing thing. But there are some things that you think about that would keep us from attending to that readiness. And the urgency of that admonition is being hidden or lost in. A couple of things I just want to list. Massive deception. Jesus said in the last days, Be not deceived, many will come in my name, saying I'm the Christ here, there, and everywhere. And not only coming saying I'm the Christ, but saying there is no Christ. There's much deception all over the place on what's the truth, who can we believe.

4:50 And for everything that we believe, there's also some contrary story. So, contradictions, constant distractions as well. Distractions, urgencies, immediate things. There's the important versus the urgent. The important are set aside because of the urgent that are in our world, in our lives. And Jesus talked about being overwhelmed by the cares and the riches and pleasures of life. Just our daily stuff that is so overwhelming. And here's another thing, too. You mentioned about deception. I don't want to go off on a bad rabbit trail here or anything, but there are people that really God is working in their hearts.

5:32 You can see it. But what the enemy is doing, he's coming to distract them and pull them away. He's bringing lies. He's bringing confusion in there. And so we need to pray for one another. I was just talking last night about some young men that. They've got a good start with the Lord. They're going and they're getting distraction. They're getting distracted by a girlfriend. They're getting distracted by some false teaching. They're getting distracted by just excuses or the enemies coming against them. Everyday things. Everyday things. But live in that state of readiness.

6:13 Well, and we have to live in that state with all these everyday things piling in on us and keep trying to keep us from recognizing what's important. The way we stay anchored in the Lord and on the rock is to stay in the Word of God and walking in the Spirit. And then you will be ready whether the distractions are coming or not. But some of the other things that keep us in that place of desensitization, things that demand our time and our energy, we have only 24 hours in a day, obviously, and some people are so pressured to make money, enough money to stay in their house or whatever they're doing, and their goal becomes lost.

6:54 Their real goal of raising a family or whatever all that might look like is lost in the urgency of trying to raise that family, for example. And then there's other distractions like failing health. We can be all consumed with our medical issues and going to doctors and doctor appointments and diagnoses and all of that is, It's a toss-up. Is this going to be good or not good? Is this going to help or not? Is this going to cost me too? All of these things. And then we have another set of problems, the sifting and the shaking of the nations, the foundations of every nation. Everything that can be shaken, God says, is going to be shaken. So this is part of our be ready. How can you get ready when your house is falling down around you?

7:38 Then we have the crisis, the cares of life, like you said, Jerry. The need for food and clothing and shelter. Then we have the constant anxieties, people on meds, depression, anti-anxiety meds, broken relationships, endless complications. And then on top of all this, we have time absolutely speeding up. And then we just sit by the racetrack and say, I can't do this, I can't keep up. And so we flip to the other side. We say, okay, we're going to just eat, drink, and be merry. And many are marrying and giving in marriage, as Jesus said it would be in the days of Lot. And there's tons and tons of counterfeiting truth, you know, false teachers, AI. Things are so confused now that you can't even tell if the thing is done by a human or by a humanoid or a robot.

8:24 You know, so all these forces are draining our energy. And it's like you're trying to keep all the plates spinning or you're picking up the pieces of all those plates that crashed. And all of this, all of this keeps us too busy to look up. Jesus said, look up for your redemption draws nigh. So keeping the focus on the sky, on Jesus coming back, is really what he's saying to do to be ready. Yeah, and it's interesting, too. I remember when I first came to know the Lord, I mean, I was looking up. I said, you know, the Bible says Jesus is going to come in the clouds. And I would look at the clouds, and I'd think, oh, look at that cloud.

9:05 That's the one who's really bright. Maybe Jesus is coming. And you can say, well, that's really naive. But no, it really isn't. Well, you know, in the early days, the early church, they also thought that Jesus could come back at any time. They mentioned that in many of their epistles and things, but we see after 2,000 years, he's still not here. And that kind of leads me to this point that how many times have people cried wolf, wolf in the coming of the Lord? And so many times, oh, he's going to come on this date, that date, he's going to come now. All the things are thought and fulfilled. And so calling wolf, wolf so many times has caused people to not even adhere to or hear or listen to that warning. And then, so when is, so there's just kind of like this fading.

9:49 Fading remembrance or belief that Jesus had said he was coming back. Well, yeah, and does he, and how, how can Jesus come back? How can an angel preach the gospel from heaven? How can, how is this going to, how can the image of the beast start talking and breathing? I mean, we see now with our technology, it's not ours, it's a demonic technology. That Satan has set this up to keep and fulfill absolutely everything John saw in the book of Revelations, but, The seductions of all these things, including our technology, makes it difficult to be prepared or be excited about Jesus coming back. You mentioned all those of it cried wolf, wolf. I mean, there was, you know, a specific example was in 1988.

10:32 There was a book that published that went around the world, 88 Reasons Why Jesus is Coming in 88, and Jesus didn't come in 88. Right, right. And then in 89, he wrote a book called 89 Reasons Why Jesus Didn't Come in 89 or 88 or something like that. Well, these prognosticators. Yeah. And the Bible says in the last days are we scoffers that will come. That's exactly right. And say, where is the promise of his coming? Well, this is part of the problem. Because everything is continuing on. Just as it was. Just as it was for years, centuries. Yeah. But that's not really true. scoffers are coming they're they're scoffers they're scoundrels they're foolish but they have a a huge voice in the places where we listen to things you know the media and all these things and so that so you can't if you're going to really keep your focus and be ready you have to pull yourself away from all of the chit chat and the instagrams and the and all the all the x and all these things that are trying to propagandize or indoctrinate or deceive or confuse.

11:40 And so the scoffers, Peter said, the scoffers are going to, that's a sign. That is a sign of Jesus coming back is the scoffers that show up to tell you he's not coming back. And there's these constant sudden changes and turns of world events that like something can change in a day. One little event, one big event can change the course of nations in one day. But these things are eternally relevant to the coming of the Lord because Jesus told us in those last days that these things would happen. And we also have to get to the place where we really... Come against that spirit of, I don't really believe he's coming because he's never come before. I don't know what that looks like.

12:21 What would a rapture look like? If there is a rapture, I don't know. I mean, all these questions that people are, you go back and read the Bible that the Holy Spirit, you know, kind of interpret it for you and stay focused on the word of God. Don't be trying to figure things out. Don't, that's a, that's a temptation. That's a trick. Don't try Try to figure it out. If you're walking in the Spirit, the Spirit of God will tell you, cause you to know things that there's no other way for you to know. Well, speaking of the Bible, here it is, Matthew 24, beginning with verse 36. But of that day and that hour, no one knows.

13:03 Not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. It means going in and out of marriage. Until the day that Noah entered the ark and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. Yeah. So it's everyday, ordinary days, things just as usual. People just, yeah, we're marrying, eating, drinking.

13:45 Nothing unusual, nothing. It doesn't sound like a big crisis or anything like that, even though Jesus said there would be famines and earthquakes. We've got famines in a lot of places. We don't hear much about it, really. And we've got earthquakes all over the place in unusual places, floods. I don't think I've ever seen so many floods as we've had even in the United States this year, but... He says then, verse 40 of Matthew 24, then two men will be in the field, one will be taken and the other left, two women will be grinding at the mill, one will be taken and the other left. Watch, therefore. Watch. That's part of being ready. Be alert. Watch and pray. Watch, therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord has come. In other words, you've got to be doing consistently the right thing at all times.

14:33 And he talks about that again in Luke where he's talking about the faithful servant where he says, who is then that wise and faithful servant whom his master will make ruler over his household to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is the servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. So in other words, you're going to be about your business faithfully, attending to the Lord's work in your life. You're going to be faithful whether he's coming today or not because you're going to occupy until he comes. You're going to stay faithful. Then he says, truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all he has. But if that servant says in his heart, here we go, my master is delaying his coming and begins to beat the servants and the maidservants and eat and drink and be drunken. Now, what's he saying there?

15:20 Beating the maidservants, ripping people off, being unkind, you know, trampling on other people to get what you need. Well, that was characteristics of the days of Noah. The Bible says the earth was filled with violence, and men's thoughts were only evil continually. The minds were defiled, violence was the rule. Eating and drinking, being drunk. And so if you turn away from being faithful, in other words, what he's saying here is God is looking for faithful servants. And then he says, you know, those men and women that are getting drunk and, you know, taking a break, the master of that servant, when he comes on that day when he's not looking for him, and an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him, and too appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

16:11 And even he goes on to say, and the servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself, or be prepared, or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know yet committed things worthy of stripes." Now, there's just going to be a group of people, too, who didn't know that much, and they should have been beaten, "...shall be beaten with few stripes." Why? Because for everyone to whom much is given of him, much will be required. So the more you understand about this, the more you know about this, the more you are aware of what God says, the more it's going to be required of you, the higher the expectations. The degree of accountability. Yeah. And then he says, Jesus says in verse 49, that he is looking for disciples.

16:51 He says, we talk about the cost of discipleship. What is it he who seeks to save his life will lose it. He who loses his life for my sake will keep it. So ultimately. He's clearly saying, Jesus is saying, if you deny me to save your life, to keep your life, to keep it for yourself, you will lose it. How many people say, I'm losing it? Yes, but the key is to lose your life for the gospel's sake so you can keep it. How many people are chased around, driven around with all kinds of fears and ways to save their life, protect their life, do it themselves, and they don't ever stop and turn to the Lord?

17:36 But then Jesus says, but what is the advantage if a man gains the whole world? And he himself is destroyed. We have a lot of people like that. What is the cost? What is the price you take on your soul? What are you worth? Satan is willing to pay that price to steal your soul. He will offer you, like he did Jesus in the temptation, the whole world if you just bow down to me. And that's the same temptation. How many people are elevated to heights of notoriety and popularity and financial million billionaires because they have sold their souls? They have permitted, they have accepted the deal, and they have bowed down to Satan, and they look like they're super blessed, but they're super lost.

18:18 And is it worth it? What is it? If you gain the whole world and lose your— What's your soul worth? Yeah. What is that? And even, you know, for those of you who are being beaten up and hard-pressed and attacked and ripped off and resisted and, you know, pounded by the devil, you say, well, how is that following God? Well, if you're suffering for righteousness' sake, it's good. It's all counted for good. And, you know, the thing is, but sometimes we have to realize, too, that we're being pounded by the devil because we don't know our rights. We don't stand up and say, no, you won't. That's enough. You won't say to the devil, you have no right. You're trespassing in the temple of property of the Most High God.

18:58 Get out of me. So there's two things here. We're suffering for righteousness' sake, persecuted for righteousness' sake, but we're not trying to be martyrs. We might be martyred, and that's okay if God says that's what he has for us. But I'm not looking to feel sorry for myself and be a martyr. I am standing, and having done all, I will stand and declare the will and work of the Lord in and through my life. but I can only be accountable for my life. I mean, yes, I have many people that I can help and encourage and tell the truth to and pray for and even give them a cup of cold water and all kinds of things. But ultimately... The one you're going to have to give an account for and be prepared to give that account is you.

19:42 You're going to have to stand before the Lord God, and He will know already. He doesn't even have to examine you. He doesn't even have to interrogate you. You don't have to present your case in that way because the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, already know everything has all been recorded. But you can change right now. You don't have to be sitting on the wrong side of the street. You can get up. You can stay. my life is worth me living it. My life is actually worth me giving it, giving it back to God, letting God have his way. Because, you know, again, that's how we be prepared. We be prepared by being sober-minded.

20:22 He says in 1 Thessalonians, be watchful. He says, you don't know the time or the hour. But he says in Thessalonians 1, chapter 5, you can know the year and the season, the time and the season. So, there is a point where watching is important because we're watching the days, we're watching the times, we're watching the years, we're watching what God is saying in those admonitions. Let me read those. 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 1. But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. In other words, you should be able to observe what's going on.

21:03 It's pretty evident. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them as labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they shall not escape. Worth is placed now in our world situation. Where we're craving peace. They're talking peace and safety. Well, we're craving it because everything is so out of control, and anybody could push the button and everybody would be blown up in a minute. But, you know, it's not going to end the way we think it's going to end. It's going to end the way God says it's going to end. The way God says it's going to end, yeah. And he says, brethren, verse 4, But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that this day should overtake you as a thief.

21:49 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness. So don't freak out. Don't be afraid. Don't act like you don't know what's going on, because you do know what's going on. If you don't know what's going on, it's because you haven't been listening to the Lord and the Holy Spirit. You're not going to walk in darkness and walk in light at the same time. Jesus Christ is the light. So he's saying, walk in that light, and this day will not be a day of dread or a day of terror. It will be a day of great joy and reward. When Jesus comes back, all of the things we've cried out for, the injustices that have gone unchallenged.

22:30 The pain, all of the incredible tragedies in the world, all of the tears, all of the struggles from every source and every person, all these things on that day will be dealt with. They'll be resolved. You know, some of them are being resolved now, but on that day, and you don't want that day to overtake you as a day of judgment and destruction and as a thief in the night. So, you know, many of us, we sleep at night. We don't pay attention to what's going on. We don't have Some have alarms, but some don't. But we don't want to be sleeping in the light. We want to be awake and aware. 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 6, Therefore let us not sleep as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

23:14 For those who sleep, sleep at night. Those who get drunk are drunk at night for the most part. And let's just stop there for a second. So many people have been sleeping. They have been drunk. They have made really bad decisions. They've done stuff in their lives that just is like almost irreparable. The thing is that they've gone too far. They're beyond redemption. But that is not true. That's a lie. There's nothing you have done that pushes you beyond redemption until you die. Once you die, then your days and choices or options are done. But whatever you did, and for the most part, whatever the most heinous things people have done have been unparalleled.

23:56 All of them, not some of them, all of them have been under the orchestration of the evil one. The spirits of death, murder, violence, all these things. And we see so many heinous things being done by what we think and perceive to be human beings in their hatred for one another. It's just, it's off the charts. But even if you've been there, we have heard many, many stories, and you know them as well, even Paul the Apostle, how people were absolutely vile haters of he, for example, of the Christians. And he became a great, not only lover of the Christians, but also a great teacher through the revelations God gave him. So no one is beyond hope and help. And so don't give up. Keep your prayers going. God is the God of the impossible.

24:39 And so you're not beyond help. It's not too late for you to be prepared. You still have a breath in your mouth. And you know, some people, they use their last breath on their deathbed to choose Jesus, which is sad and great at the same time. It's very great because God's been super, super patient with you. But it's also sad because you lost all of your opportunities to live for God during your lifetime and made a zillion people miserable because of your rejection of God. It's like you ate the apple and you gave God the core. Well, something like that, yeah. Well, it's better to be saved then than not saved at all. But still, it's like, what a waste, what a tragedy.

25:20 Here he says in 1 Thessalonians 5.8, But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another, just as you are also doing. This is part of our being ready. It's comforting, encouraging one another. What did Jesus say to do? Occupy. King James says, till I come. That means do business.

26:01 And our business is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and our neighbor as ourself, and to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. Yeah, and at the end of chapter 5, 1 Thessalonians, He gives us a list, for those of you list lovers out there, a list of things to do. Well, that's a good list. Yeah. Verse 16, Rejoice always. 17, pray without ceasing. 18, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19, do not quench the spirit. 20, do not despise prophecies. 21, test all things, hold fast that which is good. 22, abstain from every form of evil.

26:42 There's a list of those who are ready. Yeah, this is how we stay ready. This is how we stay ready. And then verse 23, but now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful who also will do it. This is a very important attachment to the end. He who calls you is faithful. God is faithful to keep us. He's the one who called us. We responded to the call, and now we are committed to him. and he's also committed to keep us in our response to him, to follow him, to be his children, disciples, and be prepared. So the Holy Spirit is the one who's preparing us. So you don't have to fret.

27:25 You just continue to go forward rejoicing, giving thanks, testing the spirits, despising that prophecies. But on the other hand, don't trust every prophecy out there because not every prophet is prophesying under the Spirit of God because of the confusion. So stay in the place of peace between you and God God, peace in your soul. By the way, Marjorie, I can tell you exactly when Jesus is coming. Yeah? When is that? Matthew 24, 44, Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Well, that could be right now, because I think a lot of us don't expect him to come right now. Don't expect him to come. Yeah, well, people say— That's when he's going to come. That's why you're prepared.

28:08 You know, if your house is clean all the time, you don't have to freak out when all of a sudden your aunt and uncle George, who are very picky, are going to be showing up at your— You find out in 10 minutes they're going to be here. If your house is already clean and neat and in order and everything, you don't have to sweat because you're ready. Well, if you're doing what the Lord is counseling you, causing you to do. If you're being obedient to the Spirit of God, walking in that place of peace and thanksgiving, walking in that place of faith and expecting, then remembering also that God is faithful, too. You're not doing this all by yourself.

28:49 God is there. He's faithful to keep you, to keep and complete the work. He will also do it. He's the one who knows. He's the only one who can keep us in this mess. He was the only one who could save us. He's the only one who can keep us. We're not going to tempt God by trying to live on the edge of His forgiveness. We're going to live in the center of God's will and be at peace and not try to see how much we can get by with. You know, I don't need to live on the edge of the cliff. That's not a safe place, and it's not a place of comfort. So we're going to live in the center of God's will, which means we love God. We let God love us. And in that love He has for us, we love one another. Father, we anticipate your return.

29:31 We anticipate the return of Jesus Christ. However it's going to work out, Lord, all the speculations that we've endured for all these centuries, Lord, we know you're coming for your people. We know you're coming for your people, and you're coming with your people to rule and reign on this earth for a thousand years, and then there's going to be an eternal kingdom. And we shall reign, he shall reign forever and ever and ever, and we're going to rule and reign with you. That is a mind-blowing idea for us, Lord, but it's the truth. And so we live in that hope. In the meantime, in this mean time, we are being faithful.

30:15 We're going to worship you. We're worshiping you. We're serving you. We're loving one another. We're sharing the good news of Jesus with everybody we can, any way we can while we can. Yes, Father. So we thank you, Father, for this promise that your word, everything is going to work out according to what your word has determined, Lord. And no matter what, how human beings and politicians get into all kinds of freaky ideas and things and plans, it's going to happen your way. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness. Complete the work that you have begun in us.

Is that just for a certain extreme group of people? If Paul was in need of deliverance, I'm sure we are too. He says, O wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death? He says that after he recognizes that, he says, if I'm doing the things I do not want to do, it's not me doing them. It is the sin that dwells within me. So he's recognizing this entity he calls sin that was operating inside of him, causing him to be deceived and do things he didn't want to do.

31:39 And then he calls out, O wretched man, who will deliver me? So deliverance is getting out that body of lies. It's getting the rats out of our house. It's tearing down the strongholds. It's closing the rat holes. But people don't understand the rules. There's rules to this war, the spiritual war. And so spiritual warfare, we all talk about, it's kind of a buzzword now, but we don't realize how deep and how insidious and how complicated and clever that war can be within and without. So what I have done in spiritual warfare and how deliverance can change your life is giving a little, I don't know, I think it's a simple overview of what's going on. Some people say it's very, you know, detailed, and it is, but there's so much more.

Yeah, Amazon's the best place to get it right now, and I would say, you know, read it and then share the concepts with the people you love, because the people you love are struggling in this war, too, and they don't know up from down sometimes, and they just need, you know, throw them a rope, throw them a broken board or something to float through to get to the island, whatever they're needing to do.
