When we participate in the festivities of this “fun” night we are making an agreement with everything hidden and done in preparation for this day. We are celebrating death and the devil’s plan to destroy us.
Halloween is rooted in paganism. Paganism is based in fear. It is the expression of a relationship with the devil and the false gods that promotes intimidation and the need to secure their favor to ensure our safety. Paganism and fear remove the love of God and pushes us into a place of being bullied into making deals with the devil lest he put a curse on us. That brings us to the explanation of the origins of the practice of “Trick or Treat.”
